Christian Support Group Community Group
This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.
Hey guys.. so just a little back story. I'm 20 years old and I grew up in a religious family. I kind of veered off of certain beliefs and morals while growing up but I never doubted God or his existance and I still loved him, I just made/make bad choices. Anyways, lately I have been trying to get more into reading my bible and things like that. So this is where I need advice.
My boyfriend believes in God and Jesus and he was even saved by someone who he had only a couple of minutes of contact with. When I talk to him about God sometimes, he's always seemed to understand and has even talked about going to church with me. Well recently, when we had a more in depth conversation, he told me that he doesn't believe certain parts of the bible because they're just so "unbelieveable" and he thinks God had a part in creating the universe, AS WELL AS evolution.
My biggest fear is instead of showing him the truth and guiding him towards God, that I'll push him away. What I want to try and do is, get a better understanding of God's word so that when he throws certain questions at me, I can give him an answer without it sounding completely made up (because not going to lie, the Bible and some of the stories do seem made up to someone who doesn't understand. Even I sometimes think how can this be true). Anyways, I want to be able to the best that I can to bring him to God. I want to slowly try and get him into church so maybe a church service we go to, will be a message in which is exactly what he needed to hear. But I am also afraid that a church service is maybe going to push him away. So, I just need some advice on how to go about this. I know it's not going to happen over night, but I would like to hear some thoughts and opinions. How should I slowly get him into church without it making it seem like I'm pushing it on him? Or if any of you have a different opinion on how I should lead him toward God, then just throw anything out there.
So this is why I joined this because I am going to do anything and everything that I can to lead my boyfriend to God. I can deal with us disagreeing on certain things, but this is different. My goal is to, obviously, bring him to God, but to also regain my relationship with God and get a better understanding of it all, not just for my boyfriend, but for me too.
Any advice on anything at all is greatly appreciated. Also, prayers that somehow, however it may be, my boyfriend gets led to God, would be even more greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

Have him read the book of John. This is one of the best New Testament books that tells all about Jesus, his purpose and his accomplishments.
Also, if he believes in evolution, ask him who made the elements that caused things to evolve. Nothing never created anything. Every plant, animal and human have their own distinctive DNA. This could not happen by evolution, it had to be by a creator. If I can be of further help, let me know.

But, if there are other signs that he is not following God, or not believing the Bible, then I would be more concerned.
You don’t want to push him away. From you or from God? God is in charge of people’s walk with them, not you. If you don’t want to push him away from you, that is a different story. Because you do need to be on the same page as him spiritually, if you are looking at him as a life mate. Make sure, because religion can divide a home, and leave any children confused and turning away from God.
Anyway, welcome to the group, sorry I wasn’t here earlier to greet you. I’ve been out of town and sick! God bless!
To be a Christian does not mean that everything in the Bible makes sense to us .Faith in Jesus is believing without seeing ,
Maybe , if you just be an example of a CHRIST like girl friend your boyfriend will develop a stronger faith in Jesus and he will not feel pushed .
For me, it is harder to believe in evolution: a one cell mollusks came from the sea onto dry land and became a multocelled being. Then, over a Very long time, this cell developed arms and legs because the species thought this was beneficial. And, then they developed into homosapians because they were the better of the species.
For me, it takes w a y more faith to believe this than to believe an inleegenr being created everything on earth. Hhmm...
But, that's what people believe in. Plus, evolution is full of theories. How do this theories get proved? They have to have someone who has observed the theory. NO man, or being has Observed these things happening...so no theory can be proved. Science disproves itself. Hhmm...
Just my opinion.
And, look into an arther by the name of Lee Strobel. He was an atheist. He saw a change in his wife who found Jesus. He started researching the historical Jesus. Then, guess what? He couldn't deny Jesus and became a Christian!!!
Just my opinion!
He chose to follow God .
