The God I serve is amazing. He is mighty and powerful.. If you serve the God I serve I can tell you that if you pray and read your bible and you dedicate not only yourself but, your family, your home, your car, everything and anything to him he will meet your needs. Romans 12:1-2 says..." I beseech you there fore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable ,which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. " The living sacrifice portion is not saying to kill yourself and give your body unto him. It is saying to live and serve him. To love and obey him. TO show your children the way they should go in the lord. So my encouragement to you is if you cast all your cares upon him, and you listen to him(during prayer), and read your bible(with all your getting get a good understanding), then he will help you. You won't have to force anything. Because whenever the Lord does something for you, there will be no sorrow.

I always say - read the Bible! It won't answer directly questions like "What should I wear today?" Or "Who should I marry?" But it gives us a greater knowledge of God and his expectations for our lives! And when we really get to know God, and hear his voice, we will begin to know what his will is for our lives.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." John 10:27

As for a calling in your life, I suspect you might have already heard from God, but are questioning if it is real? Because even if you have no idea God's will, you certainly realize that God does have a plan for your life, and you are searching to find it. So that is the first step! Many Christians never get to that point, and live their whole lives planning what they will do, instead of seeking God for his perfect will.

Which comes to prayer! Praying is not just talking to God, but it is listening. Sometimes God fills those silences with a growing understand of who he is, and what he wants for your life. So do not come to God with a grocery list of prayers, and demanding answers to deep questions. Instead, learn who God is, and then he will talk to y0u!

Here is my situation. I am a mother with two children 9 and 15. My fifteen year old has high functioning autism. I have been struggling with depression for about eight years now. I am married but it has been a horrible struggle for me as well. My husband has step out on me once, that I know of, and came back. He has had depression for three years and has done things that gotten him into some hot water. He is now unemployed and has not contributed anything to the household and I have been paying the bills with my IRA because I work pt from home and do not make a lot of money. My mother is telling me that I need to move back home. She is a Christian woman and is telling me that it is time for me and my children to leave my husband because I just can't take care of everything on my own. That means I would have to take the children to a different school, which I am scared for them. My husband has just recently found God and says he is looking for work and doesn't want me to leave but understands that if I did. He will not leave the house and thinks it is okay to stay and not pay the bills. The financial stress is unbearable, but so is the quilt of me just leaving it all behind and walking away. My husband is basically working on himself and said he wants to be a better father and husband but needs to improve himself first, so he can become a better person. I am not sure what to do from here. My depression has not good and I pray all the time, but I can't seem to get out of this dark hole.

Hi there, first I'd just like to tell you how sorry I am that you have had to indoor this long-suffering. I am no expert by any means nor am I a mother to know what it is like for you with the challenges you have faced. However, I feel such compassion and strong leading to tell you that you are good and God sees you with all that has been and will be and you are good. I think that the reason why I feel this way is maybe because He has called you and therefore washed you too. You see just like for anyone else, including your husband if he gave his life to the Lord, it takes time for our flesh to let things go sometimes. Depression is a hard thing to live with and given your circumstances its easy to see that it would be challenging for anyone even just to reach-out and talk. So, I think its more then reasonable to tell you that you are brave, honest, and loyal I can see this in what you wrote. You don't want to give up and I know that God is never going to give up on you. I think the main thing for any Christian in any circumstance is to keep focus on God and not any darkness. It can be hard to even want help and sometimes it feels like no person can help, but we can all encourage each other to keep going and keep trying. I hope that you can look at this advise just like any other and take encouragement from it, but don't dwell on anything that is not helpful to you. Just keep seeking more of Jesus and keep trying. I can tell you this I know God loves you and your family, all of them and He will not give up on you. I am so proud of you for trying and I hope you do not stop because as hard as it is sometimes faith is so much stronger when you have not seen what you are looking for yet, but you keep holding on because you know God is working in your life always. Change will happen and I believe you will be blessed with every answer at exactly the right time. I do not know what you should do, but I pray for you right now that our Lord Christ Jesus fills you with His love and great peace that surpasses all understanding and that you begin to shine with His light so bright that people begin to notice and ask you what's different about you. Know that it may feel sometimes like your alone and people who want to help don't always know how, but God knows and you my dear will not be left alone.
