And Marlene I don’t think you answered my question I had asked in my first or 2nd post. I’d love to know your thoughts and insight on it.
After I was diagnosed with my “auto immune disease” I was laying in bed just about to go to sleep and I felt God place Luke 13:12 on my heart, I got my Bible app out and it said
“When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!””

Now is that promise of healing? Did God saying that I AM healed of my sickness/disease that I AM going to be healed, I know healing is a process and needs to manifest spiritually before it manifests physically? Correct? What Can I do in order to have this verse/promise come to pass and see the fruition of this Word God placed in my heart a year ago. Even as I wrote this now I got this image in my head of when Joseph would get dreams of God speaking to him and it took years for that dream to come to pass because Joseph had to go through some trials, and eventually his dreams did come true.
Also a friend of mine told me that God spoke to her about me and said that I would have to shed my skin like a snake. This was 2 weeks ago at church when it happens and she shared it with me.
I don’t know what that means either, I know snakes she’s skin for growth and to get rid of parasites. But how can I move forward with that ? I don’t know what to do or even what to ask God,l.

Keep asking questions. It means you are wanting to grow in faith. That is a very important thing.

Salvation is a free gift. We can not earn it. All we need do is believe, ask for forgiveness, accept the gift, and with love follow our Savior. We follow out of love, not for want of treasures or glory. Heavenly treasures and glory are only extra incentive, but they mean we have pleased The Father. What we do is out of love.

Faith is now, hope is the future, and love is always and eternal.

First, we do not save ourselves by our works!

"For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them." Eph. 2:8-10

So, nothing you can do or say or not do or say can earn or lose salvation. I know this was so true for me! At my worst, when I turned away from God, very angry, I knew God was there! But, I didn't care. He kept working on my heart, to bring me back to him. In the end, he just kept pressing on me to read the Psalms, and when I read the stories, I realized that we live in a fallen world, in fallen bodies. But God is there, through it all!

All we can do is trust God, no matter what the outcome. I would highly suggest you pick up a modern version of the Bible, or read on Biblegateway.com 5 psalms a day. Just keep reading every day, even if you don't understand some of it, and God will minister to your heart. That is what really turned me around!

And, I sure understand you are worried and concerned about your family! Why would you not be? The future is uncertain, although, we can all pray this disease will not be deadly. RA can also kill, but I didn't find that out till I had it for many years. And the fact is, anyone can walk across the street, and be hit by a car. Or, be in an accident, or something else.

There are no guarantees in the Bible of a perfect life. Only a perfect God! And trusting in him. But, if you are like me, sometimes, you will be down, and have bad days. But God is working on us, and changing us into his image.

"And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, which is from the Lord, who is the Spirit" 2 Cor. 3:18

We are being transformed into the image of Christ! Wow! Now that is good news!

As for worry, the Bible does say a lot about worry and anxiety!

"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice! 5 Let everyone see your gentleness. The Lord is near! 6 Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:4-7

But how hard to get to that point! So, start thanking God for your family, your church, and for Jesus. Try and focus on the things that are right. But, as RJW says, don't feel overcome with shame, because you are sick. Don't be humiliated because you have not been healed. Rejoice, instead! Or, in spite of everything!

I am so sorry you are going through this, and you are so young. But, God is in control! See Rev. 19:6! So, we trust God partly by recognizing that he is in control, and that he does know best.

Heavenly Father, I pray for Jenn, as she goes through this extremely difficult time in her life, of wondering what the future holds, and what will happen to her family. Show her that she can trust you. Let her know that you are there, even in the darkness and the storm! And you will work all things together for good! Regardless of how things are on the outside, that you love her, and you are in control. In Jesus name, I pray! Amen"

I can't answer whether that verse was a prophecy or not! That is between you and God. But, I don't believe in this "manifesting" stuff. Either Jesus heals, or he does not. Once, with a blind man, he had to touch him twice, but even the first time he could see better than before. He could see "men walking like trees!"

I personally, and I am sorry if this sounds nasty, think that this manifesting is just a trick of Word Faith healers. They say this to people who are not healed, and encourage them to keep on confessing. Show me where it says this in the Bible!

As far as personal prophecy, I don't believe in at all. I was in a church that did this for a number of years, and none of it came to pass. In fact, I don't see personal prophecy anywhere in the Bible. God spoke to the apostles, and they wrote it down. Or Moses, or the prophets. No, we are not those people. We do not have that gift!

But, God DOES speak to us! He tells us things in the small, still voice. He also tells us things in the Bible. Last year, I was reading the Bible in Matt 6, and I remembered just seeing the word. I looked in my Greek workbook, and I had just translated the words from Biblical Greek. Well, that could still be a coincidence, right? But, after reading my English bible, I picked up a book I was reading, that I had put aside. Guess what the chaper was about? Yes, the same words I had just read in English and Greek!

I know that was from God. But it wasn't a personal prophecy, it was directly meant to be how we are to live as Christians.

I guess that is what I hate most about Word Faith, name it and claim it. It makes everything about "me!" Instead of God! We have to put God at the center of our lives! And sadly, when we pursue other things, even good things, instead of God, we have lost what the gospel is all about.

It is not about us getting healing or wealth or restored marriages, although God certainly can and will do that! But the gospel is about walking with God.

There is a word in Greek - peripateo. It means "I walk!" But it also means "I live!" So, when we walk with Christ, we find life! And eternal life is part of that, but living in the here and now is the main part we are dealing with now.

So, I don't like personal prophecy, and especially because she might have given you false hope. I think God will speak to you personally! He will lead and guide you! For instance, God led you here, and we have been having the most amazing conversation, the three of us! We are all learning from each other, and being blessed by each other.

But, you may wonder why I put so many Bible verses in my posts. Because I know for certain they are the truth! (Of course, context is important!). I am actually a pastor, and I have a Master of Divinity which includes course on counselling. But, mostly, I try and pray when I am posting, and ask God what he would have me say, and which verses in the Bible cover it.

That seems to me to be a better idea than someone coming over unasked, and giving you a vision "she" had, about you! Why not just stick to the Bible, and you know it will be true! And what we know about that verse, Luke 13:12, that you quoted at the top of page 2, is that Jesus did heal that woman.

"When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.”" Luke 13:12

Why do we know she was healed? Well, we need to read the verses surrounding that verse - both before and after, the whole chapter, and the entire book of Luke, and then the NT and the whole Bible, and in prayer to God! Wow! That is a tall order. I know the Bible so well, I sometimes skip the step about the whole book of Luke, simply because I have read it at least 50 times, and I do know about the biblical background. Plus, I just read the whole book of Luke in Biblical Greek, which was a challenge, since Luke used very advanced Greek! Properly, the context and the purpose of the verse is this!

"Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And behold, there was a woman who had had a disabling spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. 12 When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your disability.” 13 And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she glorified God. 14 But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, “There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” 15 Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? 16 And ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” 17 As he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame, and all the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him." Luke 13:10-17

So, what is it really about? Is it just about the women with a disabling spirit? Yes, Jesus healed her. But he healed her in front of the Pharisees. To put them to shame, but even more important, to glorify God! This passage is about God, not us!

Or, perhaps God did give you the passage, so I could try and teach you about the importance of context, proper exegesis (pulling things out of Scripture, not reading into it) and Bible hermeneutics, or interpretation. I personally don't think it was a prophecy to you. But, it is a word from God for all of us! That Jesus did have compassion, and he healed this woman, but the purpose was about glorifying God!

I hope that makes sense. If you have never been taught this, it takes a long time to learn. I took a whole course on Bible interpretation, and when I was done, I was convinced that improperly pulling verses out of context is the root of a lot of heresies, and people being led astray.

Now, if we do know the background of a verse, and the context, certainly we can use it, quote it, and learn from it. But, that does not make it a personal prophecy. Anyway, I am praying for you, and I hope my answer encourages you, rather than discouraging. Christ will heal whom he wants. But mostly, I have found he uses things to teach us and for good. But not necessarily for a sign to us!

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28

Here is another passage from Romans 8 which I love! Read the whole chapter!

"31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be[i] against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:31-38

At this point I’m even more confused then I was when I started. I have a lot to just pray about and seek answers from God and the Bible. I’ve read the book of Luke and I’ve mediated on this verse forever it seems like as well. I’ve gone to a lot of people on this topic and this verse In Luke and eveyone has something different to say about it, but they all have a common theme thou, which goes to say that God speaks to everyone differently, with me he gives me scriptures, it just comes to my heart so vividly and in dreams as well. But with everyone I’ve spoken to even a Christian therapist recently, they all have said that God has promised me healing, which is why he gave me that scripture to begin with, but how long it will take I don’t know, but by faith it will come to pass, it’s believing it in the spiritual world that mirrors the physical world. If God says he’s going to do something he does it, i tend to put a limit on God and a time frame and that’s not how he works. I don’t question his love for me I question his goodness in circumstances, but I also know that the enemy uses things to afflict us and he does use sickness and disease but God has already paid for that on the cross.
I’m going to remain hopeful that it will happen and be obedient as well. That’s all I can do

Jenn, as I said, meditating on one verse is out of context. I would ask that you would meditate on the whole section I posted above. Think about what God is saying to us in the whole passage. One verse is simply not appropriate to get the real message.

I get the feeling you come from Pentecostal or charismatic circles, with some having bought into Word Faith. Well, there is a whole world of looking at God, scripture and not seeing those things. I was Pentecostal for 15 years. And many of my friends moved to the Word Faith movement. One woman got ordained by Kenneth Copeland and started her own church. Another man was on fire for God, going to every church and meeting, and praying for healing.

When I got Rheumatoid Arthritis, they prayed for me, and I was not healed. So, they blamed me for not having enough faith. I was at my lowest point physically, I had to give up my career teaching, and all they could do was attack me spiritually? I stopped going to church, reading the Bible and walked away from God. Well, in fact, I turned my face to the wall, because I was bed ridden. (God did bring me back through the reading of the Psalms).

The woman finally phoned me one day, and admitted she had breast cancer, BUT she was healed. Because she had named and claimed it. "By his stripes I am healed" and so forth. But she did not get cancer meds. Her church and family supported her, because, after all, she was already healed. Well, she died less than a year later, when the cancer metastasized to her brain.

The man who judged and condemned me, had an enlarged prostate. A non Word Faith friend found him on the floor of his house, and he was rushed to the ER, where he had surgery. That was over 10 years ago, and he sees the doctor once a year, and gets tests, and he is fine.

So, they condemned me, but yet, neither of them was healed by a miracle. And one lost her life because of it. The other man has changed his tune a lot. Something about "God uses medicine and doctors!" Yes, he does!

So, actually, this whole idea that Jesus paid for healing in the atonement is also based on extremely faulty out of context eisegesis. It is from Isa. 53:5d. That's right, your whole idea, there in the last line that "God has already paid for that on the cross" does not hold up to close scrutiny. I can't fathom how many times someone has quoted "By his stripes we are healed' to me. So, I went and did a thorough analysis of it, and it isn't so! It is NOT what the Bible says, it is a terrible lie from the devil! That so many have been deceived by this lie.

Anyway, I'll start another post about this, and hopefully it will make more sense. I am not trying to discourage you, but you are already discouraged and depressed, so maybe knowing that what you have been taught is wrong, will give you more hope for the future?

I do apologize for causing any confusion. That is why you are doing good in seeking answers from The Source in praying and reading The Word or Bible. We are all uniquely different with different circumstances. The Lord knows that and lovingly shows us our best path to follow Him. Faith in The Lord is believing in Him, even if all else is taken away. With that faith no matter what might happen, we will praise Him. By faith we are healed, but what if by being healed you turn from The Lord completely and thus curse The Holy Spirit believing that you are the god of you or that something else is your god? Grow in faith, so that any healing becomes a blessing. That faith conquers fear as well. Only God knows if you will actually be physically healed or not. Just don't lose faith in giving God an "or else" ultimatum. His ways are perfect. The answers are all from The Source. The biggest fear is that you might lose faith and turn from The Lord if not physically healed. That fear is out of genuine love, because all who believe don't want to lose you. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. We don't want to lose our family member. Stay strong and keep up the faith. It is life that is everlasting. First off you NEED to surrender! You haven't done so yet. You're still trying to control the situation,the outcome,and God. Instead,NOMATTER HOW HARD IT IS,you NEED to find a quiet time (and place ) for yourself. Even if it's while your showering go ahead and do it! You NEED to do breathing exercises so that you can quiet your mind. Once you quiet your mind you NEED to picture the Lord standing before you and you NEED to say something like the following"Lord,I'm sorry for pushing my agenda,my wants,my desires,and my plans onto you. I'm sorry for ignoring,blocking,and(at other times)drowning you out. I don't know better than you do and I'm sorry that I've been allowing myself to assume that I do. Lord,I'm so exhausted,weary,and worn and ALL I want to do is rest. I'm sorry that it took me till this point to do so BUT better late than never,right Lord? Anyway I surrender utterly(and completely) to You,Your will,and Your plans for my life and the lives of those I love. For I now allow myself to acknowledge(and know) on EVERY level of my being that your knowledge and wisdom is far superior to mine both in the past and now as well as in the future. You know me Lord,better than I know myself so ALL I ask, kneeling(even if it's ONLY your spirit and soul doing so) before you now,is for gentle BUT firm reminders to surrender throughout the day when I start to take back what I know is rightfully yours. Second sometimes the Lord answers 'yes' and sometimes the Lord answers 'no'. Sometimes the answer is just plain 'no' either because He has something far better in mind for a person or because there are those in a persons' family and/or the world that NEED that persons' suffering. Suffering,when freely given with NO agenda,can be turned into one of the purest and most beautiful forms of prayer that there is!! Even though this isn't what you want to hear it's the truth! He might not want to heal you physically in this life and you have to come to terms with that. The ONLY way to do so is to go through the grieving process. Be open to(and allow)yourself to grieve for yourself and ANY other areas you have. You WON'T have peace until you grieve and surrender.
