My wife and I are probably going to go our seperate ways unfortunately as we are from different countries and disagree on so many things and her family have not treated me well as the culture is a bit too different for them to handle.


I will still give her a chance, but now we are both in our own countries.


Hard thing is that we both have a baby who is 8 months old and we both want to do our best for her of course. My wife is arguing with me as I am not sure about the Christening of the baby, she is catholic along with her family and I am a Baptist and our views are quite different on Christenings obviously. 


If I go to the Christening even if I am against Christening a person who is so young, will I be a hypocrite? If I refuse to go as I disagree would that make me a bad father. 


If it were a normal party to celebrate the life of my daughter I would be very happy, but I sort of disagree with the premise.

Thank you for sharing. It is much like attending a Wedding of a Jewish friend. You might not understand all the ceremony, but still there out of respect to your friend. You go to the Christening to be there for your daughter, but also important, when she reaches the age of reason, that you share with her The Truth. You see it as the celebration of life for your daughter, while they see it differently, but both can still do each. A public school teaches Evolution, yet as a good father, you will want her to go to school. It is just showing her The Truth, so she knows. Also good to invite those at the Christening to her (hopefully) future actual Baptism in The Church. But not to do it rudely, but genuinely and respectfully. We can't control others actions, but we can control our own. Hopefully that made sense. Thank you. God Bless.

You are welcome. It is perfectly alright to disagree with it too. I like Science, but obviously greatly disagree with Evolution. Sometimes it is seeing The Truth through the lies, that really matters. Happy I actually made sense, and was of any help. God Bless.

So many times this year, I have been suicidal or thought that my life was going to come crashing down, I have been in some seriously difficult situations this year, but through it all it has brought me closer to God. I am thankful to good people life yourself who have been supportive even though I do not know you personally, Thanks again!

I agree with RJW, too! Go because you love your daughter. She won't remember it anyway. Raise her to love God. When she gets older, tell her about believer's baptism. Maybe she will be rebaptised.,Lots of people do!

    I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain.     I haven't been around in a long time. I am admin in a private group, and I would like to upgrade someone else to that position. I thought I knew how to do that, but the prompt has gone missing. Or is it not allowed to upgrade someone else to admin? I just find "ban and demote" under "Edit." I don't get notifications to DS anymore, but I wil come back in a few days to find out the answer.
