My counselor tells me the same thing - journal, journal, journal....the more we get out of our hearts & heads the less satan can use against us...a.k.a.mind-games.
I have a God-journal, I write everything out to Him, letters to God so to speak, and whenever I read back over them I see God's presence in each answered prayer...even though not all are answered the way I would have wanted - He stills answers them in the way that is best for His child crying out to Him.

I wrote a letter like that to my son recently and then shredded it. As I sat at the table and wrote the letter I felt and experienced all the bottle up anger inside of me and just kept writing. When I had finished and read back over the letter what I discovered is that almost all of what I wrote would have been okay for him to read if I had the nerve to send it. Most of it was completely legit and accurate. It wasn't hateful or vengeful.... just truthful. It was me taking up for myself and taking back my power, so to speak.

If only I had the courage to send it. I guess I am still walking a path of egg shells, pins and needles.

I also have been writing, but I haven't been ripping up the letters and throwing them away. I have writing about our estranged daughters for years and have been dating the letters. I am very pleasantly surprised to find that I am actually less angry, less hurt, and getting more forgiving as time goes by. As I said, this has taken YEARS! I ask the Lord many times a day for His strength and healing. I believe that He is doing both in healing my spirit toward our daughters.

My therapist told me to keep a journal. I did write my son a letter. When I divorced my ex husband Over three years now My son and his wife quit speaking to me. They had a baby girl in November And I have not been able to meet her. I wrote my son in March and he never responded. I wrote my granddaughter a letter And would like to send it But she can't read it of course. So I will keep them and send them to her one day. I read a letter to God And ask for their forgiveness And to give me peace on all of this and to let it go. Then I destroyed the letter Feeling i placed it at the foot of the cross And trying not to pick it back up.

I suggested this an earlier post, something similar. And I did just that...wrote the letter....but when I was very upset and emotional. (And I sent it). All would probably be okay right now if I didnt send it, but I did. What I got was a backlash from dil that I didnt expect. It wasnt even to her. She said she will NOT try to work things out..she deleted me from fb..and blocked me, as he did several weeks prior. THEN...in my misery...I contacted ES' deceased wife's sister. That whole family despises me.. She died of cancer but its my fault. Anyhow...I noticed dil had now cozied up to them via fb. She has had them deletd and blocked for 2 yrs. She plays one against the other. I imagined all the terrible things they were all saying about me, so I contacted deceased dil on fb. She is the only one who likes me, because she is their family scape-goat when Im not around for them to bash. I was going to tell her EVERYTHING...about how new dil is not treating the gks right...typical Cinderellas situation...she treats my gks like dirt, but treats her son like gold. EVERYTHING started telling me this isnt right....just bow out gracefully. IF I start to tell deceased wifes sister everything, I am playing into their hand. I feel I was being set up. Either to be recorded or 3 way call. I instead am taking the high road...and didnt answer when she called me tonite. Talk about God protecting me. I have never felt anything so strong in all my life. Another fb friend posted "stop trying to control the outcome of everything" the harder you try to get things to go your way, the more they wont. So I am going to let go and let God. If I did tell the sister everything, they would have fodder to talk about for a year. I need to prove them all wrong and get on with my life. No need to beat a dead horse, these are all things I've told my son and written in the letter that I shouldnt have sent. If I kept on it would just be vindictive, and thats not Christian like.
