CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...

Truthfully look at ourselves...could a girlgriend/boyfriend/social friend/boss/manager etc... convince us in any way shape or form to talk to our parents the way he just did to your DH? If the answer is no...then we must look to the adult child and ask...what makes them think they can get away with this type of action...hopefully it is not because we are allowing them to get by with it time and time again with no consequences for their action,
One apology from a parent should be sufficient if it is given in good faith...to continue to aplogize and allow any child to spout off things like he did to your DH is demeaning and disrespectful and puts an incredible amount of power in a very immature person's hands.
He has stated more than once to his parents about legal action. If allowed to continue this...while being supported by those same parents...then you are telling him that those actions are acceptable and okay with you. Actually those actions are not really even acceptable in civil society so what is being taught here.
"Honor they Father and Mother" seems very far from his thoughts...and he is getting by with it.

Gordos4 - could you post what chapter/verse in 2 Timothy your post is from? I think I need to read and re-read it and perhaps share it with others. Thank you.
I begged for so many other me-centered "fixes" in my prayers for years and years. When I turned to this prayer, I began to accept what will not, in this life in this family, ever be changed.
I hope my experiences save you even a year or two of begging someone to love you who is determined not to, and of bargaining with God instead of throwing yourself in your Father's loving arms for comfort.
Pretty much describes our EC, doesn't it?
