Happy Christmas to you one and all. I pray that 2015 will bring with it the answers to our prayers for reconciliation with our precious children.
I just want to put a few thoughts out there for us all this year as at Christmas, our pain grows greater through the loss we feel thinking of how perhaps we used to gather around the festive table and celebrate the birth of Jesus.
While we sit perhaps alone and ponder how the children we would have taken a bullet for, taken the clothes off our backs for and worked our skin to the bone to put them through college or whatever could have abandoned us as so much garbage -
Please dear ones know that God is watching over you and your pain.
Remember that Christmas is also a silly season to invoke in us sentimental thought to go out and buy gifts to plump up the economy. We are just pawns in a huge big game.
Even our much loved Christmas tree is spoken against in scripture - it used to be used by pagans, driven into their walls and decorated in worship to their gods (though I still have mine out every year which I love). http://www.openbible.info/topics/christmas_trees
Even SANTA is SATAN spelled differently. At this time of year this holiday which holds such great and utterly ridiculous expectations of unreachable goodwill and peace to everyone when there is terrible war and devastation all around us and some people are only getting body-bags back from conflict zones for Christmas, we nee to also see that the highest accident rates through travel, the highest incidences of suicide and sadness take place right now. We must try our very best with the great pain on our shoulders, to carry on life as we normally would despite it being Christmas. I hope you get the gist of what I am trying to portray here.
This month the agents of satan come out to play - the narcissists, the borderlines, the sociopaths and the psychopaths - why, even the sanity of the most peace-loving creatures are severely tested by the obligations and unrealistic expectations placed on us to all be cheerful, happy, not rushed not harried whilst shopping in great lines and our purses becoming more and more empty. We must produce the perfect Christmas scenario, the most lovely decorated home the best turkey and settings and smile, smile, smile.
Remember dear ones that Christmas is over in one day. Yes we can pick out the positives - see the nativity scene, the gift of God of his son Jesus Christ to us as salvation reflected in the gifts - but really, this is the time for grasping onto our sanity (under our particular circumstances in this group), and not by giving into the sentiments pushed onto us, hard as that may be. We may even need to turn OFF the carol playing this year to prevent more pain for us.
Christmas will be over in a flash and it is this we need to strive for in our pain - at least I do I know despite getting visitors - and the New Year is actually only in reality next month.
We need to grasp onto this perspective to get through this very, very difficult time to keep ourselves intact and take care of our very hurt feelings my beloved ones in this group.

I'm not feeling overly festive this year. This is the first time I don't have a big meal planned, I haven't baked, and my husband and I have no plans whatsoever… But my heart is focused on Jesus and what He came to walk this earth to do for each of us. The victory is already ours…
This was my devotion from this morning. I think it goes well with this post and what each of us are going through.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Scripture reminds us that many righteous men and women didn't see the fruition of their hope until their faith had been severely tested. In some cases, they never saw concrete answers to some of their prayers within their lifetimes. Yet this didn't stop them from believing God day after day.
There was no writing prophet in Israel for four centuries, yet men and women like Simeon and Anna--godly people waiting expectantly for the true Messiah--still held on to their belief that the Lord would do exactly what He said He'd do. They hadn't given up hope, even in their old age. No wonder they recognized the long-awaited one immediately when they saw Him in His mother's arms--even though no one else did.
It didn't matter that this young family was clearly poor, bringing to the temple the least expensive sacrifice. Simeon and Anna recognized royalty right away, because they were in constant communion with God, walking by faith rather than sight.
Lord Jesus, I trust in You fully. Thank you for giving me the gift of hope as an anchor for my soul as I choose to keep putting my faith in You.
