CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
PS. Do you have to be on FB?
Not sure how I'd handle the trip. Maybe as the others suggested, get your son's input?
I deactivated my Facebook account a couple of months ago. When I want to check for photos I'll go on late at night and then deactivate again. Actually, it's a long time in between postings of new photos so I'm not missing out on much. I have much more time to read, and do the other things I could have been doing instead of wasting my time on there, which I did too much of. It kind of sucks you in. It's extremely easy to deactivate and reactivate a Facebook account. At least that's one thing you can control. :)
God bless you and DH. Good for you for not accepting verbal abuse on FB.
My dad is 88 years old and still asks me over and over how could a strong man allow a woman to
manipulate his heart for all those years. Even though my brother apologized for a life time of pain to my dad
he has never fully recovered from it.
I loved my brother dearly and have tried to blame my sister-in-law for everything! But the Lord has shown me that my brother could have spoken up for his mom and dad and his sister too. That is the part that breaks our heart the most
Don't allow it to affect your heart! Keep praying for them!!
When a man and woman marry, their primary responsibility and duty is now to their spouse. Although it hurts, their spouse, and their marriage are now more important that the relationship with parents. The two become one, whether we like it or not.
I'm not trying to be harsh here, but if a man loves his wife, he is going to side with her... he should side with her. It is not a competition.
I'm not typing this to try to make anyone feel badly, I do understand the pain. I am still estranged from my son and his 3 children, and only just reunited with my daughter recently. I get it.
I recall when I married the first time when I was 19 years old. My mother-in-law told me I had come between her and her son. I thought.... um... what about "a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife"?
Although it hurts, it is right and good that your sons do what they need to do to keep their marriages together. You should honour and respect them for that. If you try to come between them one of two things will happen. Either you will be shut out, or you will help to cause a divorce.
This was difficult to type... I've been thinking it through for a couple of days now. And I don't tend to re-read before hitting submit so I hope it's worded correctly.
