HI Ladies: In looking on my computer the other day I came across these prayers that I used when my son was younger. I now find that they are even more appropriate today. I hope there will be enough room for me to post all of them for each of you to use if you wish.
The Importance Of Praying For Your Children
If we do not pray for our children, it is like watching our children in a war zone, getting shot at from every angle.
God’s word is “ living and powerful, and sharper than any 2 edged sword ”, it pierces everything it touches.
God says. “ My word shall not return to be void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it ”
In other words, His words are effectual and fruitful. Whenever you are praying for your child, include an appropriate scripture verse in your prayer.
When we include God’s word in our prayer, we are laying hold of the promises He gives us and appropriating them into the lives of our children.
Remember that when God has a perfect plan for our children’s lives, Satan has a plan for them too. Satan’s plan is to destroy them, and he will try to use any means, drugs, sex, alcohol, rebellion, accidents, disease. But he will not be able to successfully use any of those things if his power has been dissipated by prayer.
The Bible says, “ How can one enter a strong’s man’s house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strong man.”
So, we have to first bind Satan and forbid him from destroying our children’s lives.
(1) Release Your Child Into God’s Hands
Lord,
I surrender my child Xxx to you. You know what is best for him and you know what he needs. I release Xxx to You to care for and protect. Holy Spirit, teach me and guide me what and how to pray for Xxx. Help me to pray according to your promise and your will. Let your will be done in Xxx’ life.
Thank You, Lord for the precious gift Xxx. Because Your Word says that every good gift comes from you, You have given him to me to care for and raise. Grant me the wisdom to do that. I release Xxx to you for protection, guidance and counsel. Help me not to live in fear of dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing that You are in control of him. I rely on you for everything and trust Xxx to you and release Xxx completely into Your loving hands.

(2) Prayer For Protection Against Harm And Danger
Lord,
I lift Xxx up to You and ask that You would cover him with the blood of Jesus , and put a hedge of protection around him. Protect his spirit, body, mind, and emotions from any kind of evil or harm. I pray specifically for protection from all kinds of accidents, disease, injury, physical abuse, mental abuse or emotional abuse.
Hide Xxx under the shadow of your wings. Deliver him from any kind of evil influences that would come against him. Keep him safe from any hidden dangers and let no weapon formed against him be able to prosper. Make Xxx walk Your Ways and in obedience to Your Will, keep him safe in all he does and wherever he goes.
In Jesus’ name, I pray
(3) Prayer For Humbleness, Daily Walk
Lord,
Give Xxx a heart to fear you, so that whatever he does will be pleasing in Your sight. Help him to be humble and walk in obedience and submission to You.

(4) Prayer For Godly Friends
Lord,
I lift up Xxx to You and ask that you would bring godly friends into his life. Give him the wisdom to discern between good and bad friends, help him to choose friends who are godly. I pray that you would break off his relationships with all those ungodly friends or else transform that person into Your likeness.
Your word says, “ He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed” (Proverb 13:20). Protect my child from becoming a companion of fools. Give him humble and wise friends with whom he can connect, share and learn their wise ways. Deliver him from mingling with foolish people. May each of his friendships always glorify You, Lord.

(5) Prayer For Developing A Hunger For The Things Of God
Lord,
I pray for Xxx to hunger for You. Give him a strong desire for the truth of Your Word and a love for Your laws and Your ways. I pray that his heart will not have any diversion away from you but that he will be repulsed by ungodliness and all that is in opposition to You.
Help him to understand that a life controlled by flesh will only reap death. Make him fear the Lord and depart from evil. (Proverb 3:7)
I pray that he will always desire to be an active member of a Xxxtian church that is alive to the truth of Your Word. Let him have a strong desire to read Your Word, meditate on your word and digest your word. Write Your law in his mind and on his heart so that he always walks with a confident assurance of the righteousness of Your commands.

(6) Protects Him In Temptation
Lord,
I pray that my child Xxx will draw closer and closer to you each day. As he stays close to you, Lord, be with him in the temptations that come his way. You don’t promise to protect us from temptation, but you do promise your help in resisting temptation when we face it. Help Xxx today with the temptations he will face.
Thank you, Lord, for your promise that no temptation will ever be so strong that he can’t stand up against it. When he is tempted, I trust God you will always show him a way out.
Please protect Xxx, Lord. You promise that when we resist the devil, he will flee. Help him to depend on you for guidance and protection.
