CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
Wow. We didn't see that one coming! My husband thinks she just doesn't want us around and is trying to find an excuse. I am okay, because I had been mourning the loss of this family for the last 10 weeks, so I'm starting in the middle. I actually feel some relief because now I know it's done and I know what she's thinking. I am sad to loose my two grandchildren, but it is what it is.
Isn't life crazy??
We have to forgive them for being under the influence of a sinful, self centered world. I pray your ED grows up,
and realizes she can never replace her parents. Prayers and hugs.
Lindajoan, I just told my ED that we loved her and we would always be here for her, but we will respect her decision. I turned to her husband and told him to take care of her and the kids. Then they got up and walked away.
Wow. Such conditional love and acceptance. There's got to be something wrong with her. She is not the person we raised her to be. I think there are much deeper issues, like jealousy, resentment, anger, etc. I wish she would talk to us about those things instead of making things up to hate us for.
Thanks for being here, you guys.
making excuses. I know because that is what has happened to me. My ED told me I looked too young for my age and the jeans I was wearing I could do better. I'm a size 2 so go figure that out??? She would tell me my hair color was wrong and have I thought about changing my hairstyle.
It went on and on and on. I then realized that it didn't matter what I looked like, what clothes I wore,
what hairstyle I had, and how much I weighed it wouldn't change the inside of how she felt about me.
It was then that I accepted it will take the Lord's hand to change her heart. I would beat myself up trying to make things better but when I tried she would say something else about my character. I have come to the conclusion that fretting is not good for my soul and that waiting on HIS timing is what's best for me.
I will be praying for you and your husband. Sometimes it is just nice to read that someone else is going thru exactly the same situation. Psalms 31:24 Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait and hope for and expect the Lord!
