We will all get through it with God on our side. I, too, was diagnosed with GAD, panic attacks and also, PTSD. many years ago, but since the estrangement I have been fighting all of this again. The other day while reading scriptures I read, 1John 4:18, Perfect love casts out all fear. I am using this to overcome the anxiety and praying God to help me . Everything we need is in God.

I would text her that you are so happy he enjoyed his gifts, that you love him and are happy to see him whenever it's a good time. This way you acknowledge her text. If you ignore it and it was an olive branch she might feel it was rejected. But do stay guarded and don't get too excited until the visit is actually happening, just let them know you are happy to have it whenever it's a good time for them. I am so sorry that you are going through this and it's so wrong that they pulled that when you saw him every week, I do think eventually you'll see him more regularly, maybe with summer coming up they'll start to want alone time, date night, movie night or something and it would be great if they thought of you to watch him for those times. Just keep the lines of communication open and I know some people will say it's walking on egg shells, and in a way it is, but do your best to keep it light hearted and a positive text back and forth, when they message you, respond lightly, that you're happy he liked the gifts and will be glad to see him when they have time. This gives them a different excuse for keeping him away so they can say, oh this isn't a good weekend or that's a busy week, BUT it also makes it easier to give in and say, this weekend works out best for us or him due to not having things going on, giving them a different way out than caving on estrangement can make it an easier pill to swallow for them. It's possible that they don't know what to say because they know this isn't justified so they'd be at a loss for explaining why they are starting to change their minds. Just start changing the language you use with them to give them a different narrative to focus on so they can think more on the lines of when things open up for them and they aren't busy with work and school. It shouldn't be that way, you shouldn't have to recreate a new narrative with them, but it might get your visit quicker if they can use different excuses.

Enjoy your anniversary with your hubby, congrats on 32 years, that is wonderful, I always like to spend anniversaries alone with hubby anyway, so, don't feel too upset over them not celebrating that with you all, you two are the ones who have something great to celebrate, take in a movie and dinner, or maybe find a dinner theater show. You deserve to be happy for your own sakes. Mother's day is hard, there's no way around that but you gave life to a child, you should still celebrate that with your husband, get some flowers, go to a local public garden, take some amazing pictures of stuff in bloom, or have a movie marathon, funny movies, nothing sad, enjoy it that way. ....There's nothing fair about estrangement, but you can find joy in the moments you share with your spouse and your son, dil, and grandson aren't there to celebrate it with you, then you all go out and do something between the 2 of you, don't just let the days pass, you all have every reason to make those happy days, don't let estrangement spoil them for you, find a way to make them special and catered to something you and hubby will love.
