CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
Will your son be trying to contact your daughter (his sister) to tell her the news??
I understand the pain of not seeing your daughter's child..for over two years, I haven't seen my little grandson who was 7 months old when I last held him...I truly understand the pain in your heart.
Try not to give into anger and bitterness..yes, so tempting. I leave those ugly feelings at the foot of the cross of Jesus..and He forgives me for ever having them in the first place. He helps me to forgive. He's helping me to love in my heart, even when I have no contact at this time.
Keep us posted on your news, and as your grand baby grows...we are happy that you have good news in your life right now. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Sometimes I catch a glimpse of a 5/6 year old child with blonde hair and my heart lurches in expectation but then the little face turns around...and my heart is broken all over again - you know the feeling well, I am sure. My husband shares this pain too. We see her face reflected in other children of the same age, playing, jumping, laughing. She is like a dream to us now.
I must admit I have been saying "Be careful" to my heart regarding the forthcoming grandchild. I am so afraid to love with the same abandon. I know now that one break up and you might never see that child again - a hard lesson to learn. At the same time, I fight bitterness that sometimes comes up in me against my estranged daughter - rage, sadness - I guess we all feel the lot.
Thank you so much for your lovely message. God bless you!
Yes, I think we all feel bitterness towards someone in our estrangement journey. For us, it is the firs enabler (ED's former bf's father) who proclaims to be a Christian and did evil to break up our family. Bitterness and anger hurt us more than the one we feel it towards. Let's pray to let it go.
I would hate to have a bitter and twisted face and outlook on life and I know this is the inevitable outcome unless we keep praying against it's encroachment in our hurt lives and broken souls.
We must continue to pray for one another that our families be reconciled and that God's love will reign supreme in the lives of our EC. Pray and fast for one another regularly and as frequently as possible. We all need much prayer for our hurts.
