CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I don't think this will ever get better.

Very bad week. I'm extremely depressed. We met with our daughter who straight out told us that my husband of 30 years should divorce me because I am not good enough for him and he could do better. This will never end

Maybe someday, it's in God's hands.

Some days are worse than others. I find it difficult to comprehend the lack of feelings these children of ours have for us. It's like a bad dream that never seems to end. I feel very distant from my son .... Can't ever think about it as I think it's futile trust no to sort it out in my head. What's the point if they are not interested in you. Things were never perfect before the division now it's an impossible situation. I try very hard to be positive but I suffer with constant pain and sometimes it has me laid up and unable to function....resulting in me being more isolated than ever. It's a costant struggle not to get depressed because of it all. I pray and do my best each day. I feel for any parent that is living with the loss of their child rejecting them.

Sorry about the typing error.....I type too quickly and it becomes something else.

It's hard to not be depressed about everything Ruth. I just believe that God will get me through this one way or the other. I also try to look at her as I would a stranger and think, "Would I be friends with her?" Most of the time I would say no because I see how she treats everyone around her not only me. If she weren't my daughter, I would be friendly but not a friend. Sometimes that helps me for some reason.

I find that memories come flooding back in my mind that have been shared over the years before it turned into what it is now. Try as I may the love you have for your child it always there. I find it impossible to just shrug it off.

I don't shrug it off. I always feel like calling and saying, "Remember when we . .. " because of something that happened that day. It's just that the woman who sat across from us literally spitting out venom is not the same little girl who would hug, kiss and laugh with me. I don't know when in these 12 years she veered off to become the woman she is but as she says, "You don't know me." And I don't, I don't know why you can hate me for literally listening to news programs on the car radio sometimes, for asking for quiet time when sometimes, these are things she mentioned prefacing, "What kind of mother . . .".
