June 4th was our ED's 21st b.day. We sent her a card with a check inside. We have to put our address on and please forward because we don't know where she is.
Today we got a letter with the check and a note: Dear Mom and Dad, Thank you, but I really can't except this. She signed her name. It was written really fancy and my husband and I didn't even recognize the handwriting. At first I thought someone else did it, but I can't think of a reason why. Maybe writing fancy was a way to say she still cares even though she didn't write love by her name.
The last time I got anything from her was the hurtful note she left on the bed the day we found her gone. She addressed it by our last name and when she accidently wrote mom she crossed it out. This time she wrote mom and dad. I'm going to take it as a sign of hope that she's starting to feel guilty for what's she's doing.

My husband and I are now writing a final letter that can be mailed. The post office will only forward mail for a year. I'm not sure when she filled out the form, but we found her gone July 24, so hopefully we can have 1 more reach her.
