Behind my gs ears were cracked open and bleeding i just cried and so did he while i cleaned them off and put antibiotic oint on them,and we took him to park,my son did say he wouldnt keep our gs away from us so that i am grateful ,and went to candystore,he got a chocolate santa so innocent,and i am so blessed to have him.He needs us i am afraid for him my dh asked God to keep his hands,armsaround him.

I join you in prayer for your grandson and family. In enstrangement we are so helpless in many situations. God will give you strength.

I will pray for your grandson. I know the love that grandmothers have for their grandchildren, and that love is strong and powerful. He is a lucky little boy to have you love him so much.

edr------you may not like what I am saying....but why in the world are you not reporting them for abuse ?? You could probably get custody of him. I am shocked to read this. If it were me I would never just ignore this torture GS is going through. My goodness don't you think GS will someday wonder why you allowed it ??

Some may not agree with me but I don't care....this is ignoring abuse in order to visit with your GS.

I must admit that I too wondered why this situation was somehow seen as acceptable but feared I would be out of order because I know how desperate we here are for any contact with our kids and grandkids. Enstrangement makes everything crazy!!!

I have told my son that cps will be called if something isnt done,and animal control. I am not a bad GM the little fella is my life and yes we have dealt with this for awhile,in my eyes i see a issue but what happens if cps does not,then i know i wont be able to see him.I dont believe anything son/dil tells us anymore,all i know what i see and our family is tore apart over dogs.Tomarrow i will call social service dept and speak with someone.Sometimes i wonder if i am thinking right or not,am i over reacting or not.Please i am not upset with what you all say,but i am scared.

Well my DIL has admitted to a third party that she leaves her children alone in their cribs during the day and leaves for extended periods of time. She was reported, but there is no proof, and she of course lied, and said the third party (actually it was the wife of my son's best friend) made the whole story up. My son is an attorney, too, so they got out of it. Nothing came of it because there was no proof, and the kids (actually when it was reported was back when there was only one child) had no marks, or evidence of neglect. And of course the girl who reported it has been drug through the wringer by this lunatic daughter in law of mine, and my son completely backs her up. This situation does sound somewhat different, since there are insect bites and physical evidence.

What a terrible situation for you, edr. Your little grandson certainly doesn't deserve to be bitten by fleas in his own home, and you were 100% justified for telling your son and dil to clean up their act.

Calling the authorities doesn't always work. My GC were living in a filthy home that soon became infested with bugs. It was heartbreaking. At first, I would clean the house myself, in disbelief that two adults could be so filthy. Once while cleaning, my sil threw me out, and told me to mind my business, that they'll live they way they choose. A couple of days later, they unexpectedly removed both of my grandchildren from school, afraid I might call child welfare, and disappeared. They moved out without notice to anyone.That's always a risk we take with our EC. They are not usually very reasonable people, and may just take off to avoid any legal intervention. It's not easy to wear someone else's shoes....

My heartbreaks for my gs and any other child that has to go through this.This isnt the little boy we raised,all this started when he got with her.

I think I would be cautious about making a call. You are good grandparents and keep an eye on your gs. If you make a call it could cause a permanent divide.

Thats what i am terrified about,I am going to pray and let God guide me they know we are watching.My mind says one thing,my heart says another.I will never get close to another child.Thank you all!

edr, my heart goes out to you. I have had you and your gs on my mind all day. I cry out to God in the name of Jesus ..Lord give this grandmother peace Lord. Stop satin from dividing families Lord. Everyone of us on this site are in pain and we need help. Protect this little boy and make it possible for him to have his grandmother near.
