CHRISTIAN PARENTS of ESTRANGED ADULT CHILDREN Community Group
Estrangement makes it difficult to talk about with family, friends, neighbors and church members. Christians are NOT immune to broken families. Talk about your experiences with those who know how you feel and get positive support through your Christian faith...."In these last days difficult times will come, for men will be lovers of self...disobedient to parents,...
I am very aware of what your pain feels like. I also woke up one day and read on FB that my son got married. I was devastated. My head swirled and I thought that I was going to be sick to my stomach. I kept thinking that it had to be a joke. It was on his girlfriend's page. I have never met her but she had friended me when they first started dating.
Then on the next day, there was a picture of him with a big fish and the caption said, " Look what my husband caught". So I thought....it must be true.
Everyone was congratulating them and my world just crumbled beneath me.
Then later on I heard thru the grapevine that it was a joke from his gf. I didn't think it was funny. I am glad that they are not married. But I sure did experience the pain of it all before I found out.
I hope that you are feeling a bit better by now. Our ECs can be so cruel. Can't they?
We sent ED and her husband a card and money. I put both their names on the check to have husband see that we accept him and her as married. I really didn't expect the check to be cashed. My ED sent an apology letter for taking off, but nothing about the marriage. The letters were sent about the same time, so I don't know if she sent it before or after sending the card. She also said in the letter though that she didn't like me saying I would only pay her dr. bill if I got to see her; that she didn't want my money. Out of curiosity we went to the bank and only her husband signed the back of the check. I thought both had to sign it if both names are on it. Now I'm wondering if ED saw the card and knows husband cashed the check. She had no return address on the letter, so sent another letter forwarded certified mail. She never went to claim it, so it came back. It has her current address on it. Before we got it back my dad found out where she works and went to see her. He had a nice visit with her, but I wonder if it was just a front for her co-workers. She promised him she'd call us, but never did. We waited about 2 weeks. My husband then called her work and asked to talk to her. She was busy and never called back. He just sent a letter asking her if it was ok for him to get a haircut.
