Christmas Blues

So, here it is, less than a week from Christmas, & I none of my kids will be here. 1 of them has to work, 1 is going to Florida, 1 has nothing to do with me unless he needs something, & I haven't seen or heard from the 4th in 6 months. I am somewhat regretting not letting ES move in with us. He is mentally ill, but chose to do drugs, steal from me, etc. But at least I would know where he is, IF he is alive, getting food, has a roof over his head, I guess its more guilt than anything. If I had let him move in 6 months ago, he would still be here. I would be locking my bedroom doors every night & bolting down everything in the house, but still feel guilty. I wish Christmas was over. I know it's Jesus's birthday, He is the reason for the season. I'm so depressed I want to sleep through the next 5 days. Sorry, pity party over.

Gordos, You are right. No one can understand our pain unless they have gone through it. Jesus can and others here can. I am so thankful that we do not travel this sad journey of estrangement alone. We can take our burdens to the Lord and come here for support.

NickyChips, Im sorry your daughter is being so disrespectful. I don't like it when they hold themselves as ransom against us. Its like extortion. Our kids love to cause us pain, especially around the holidays,

Just wanted to add that when I posted that God isn't finished with my ED, I should have added that He isn't finished with me either. Thanks for your supportive words. Christmas is almost here and will soon be over. Hang in there everyone.

NickyChips, I KNOW God isn't finished with me, not by a long shot lol. It is sometimes good to know that God also has a sense of humor. Sometimes humor is the only thing that gets me through. The guy at the post office made me laugh SO hard yesterday, & it felt really good. For the first time in months, I didn't feel guilty about laughing. I normally feel guilty saying to myself "How dare you laugh or be happy when your kid is miserable". I know that is the evil one making me feel that way. I am indeed looking forward to Saturday, when all the family obligations will be over & I don't have to put up the façade of being happy.
