Hi friends. I haven't written much lately but have been checking in. Just wanted to ask for your prayers again. Everything with our ECs was so terrible last year and remains not great still. Exactly one year ago we brought a sweet kitten into our home. We had no idea what a blessing she would be and truly the highlight of our whole year. She traveled with us multiple times and has been such a loyal companion to me especially. She is loving and affectionate with me like no other pet I've had. She fell ill three weeks ago and doctors have spent the past weeks searching for a cause. Tonight we got our answer, she has a terminal illness with no cure or treatment. She is only one. I chose my screen name here "chocolatecat" because they are two things that bring a bit of joy to my day and I've wanted to remind myself of the good things more often. Our kitty only has a few weeks more to live if we can keep her comfortable and happy. I'm truly devastated by this diagnosis and can't imagine life without her sweetness and love. It has been so healing for me while my ECs have been so horrible these past years and especially this year. I don't know why she has to leave this earth so soon. I'm trying to be grateful for the short time we had. Extended family doesn't understand, they don't have pets or don't like cats. DH does, but really she has been my little blessing all year. Please pray for me. It is another terrible blow in a bad year.

Hi again friends. We lost our precious kitty yesterday. It was terrible. Thank you all for your kind words of understanding. She has left a hole in my life right now because I'm missing her love and kindness. Even when she was at her end she purred when I held her. It feels very irreplaceable. On top of that we got bad news about what our ECs have been doing lately. Maranatha, Come quickly Lord Jesus.

This made me cry. Our oldest poodle, Rippy, is in his last days. He will be 16 next month if he lives that long. He has a tumor and it makes him cough constantly, and he also has dementia and gets confused and lost even in our house. Yet he still has it in him to eat, which is the main reason I haven't had him put to sleep yet. It is hard to know what to do. I am so sorry and also about your EC.

Poodle, I lost my little Dog Mr. Brownie 6 years ago and my heart still hurts and I miss him sooo very much. It seems that almost no human in recent years treated me as lovingly as he did and I still cry sometimes for him....especially when humans heart and I don't have him to love on This is a hard time for you, A big hug my friend.

So sorry this has happened. I can relate as my furry babies in the past have been hard to say goodbye to. They are family.

It is amazing that we can be comforted by something so small that doesn't even communicate with us through words. They are little miracles and blessings.
poodlegirl, I am so sorry that your Rippy is in his last days. This is just heartbreaking. I'm sure he knows he is well loved. Give him lots of hugs and kisses. God bless. I have to tell myself that I know the Lord still loves me even though He took my kitty back to Heaven. I certainly appreciate every single day I had with her. Blessings all.

tooheartbroken, thank you for thinking of me, I've been just going on one day at a time. I knew I would miss my little kitty so much and I do. She brought me so much joy every day and I am really missing that. Our ECs have been up to no good in recent weeks - I hear down the grapevine only. So it feels like tragedy + tragedy - joy now. Family reunion coming up and the holidays too. Wish I could fast forward the next few months.

That's all we can do is take one day at a time. Thank God for the next life where we'll have eternal bliss. Let's just hope our EC make it there with us. We need to pray for that. Would you consider giving a home and love to another kitty at some point? The unconditional love from those sweet creatures is so healing and needed. I believe God created pets to give us what He knew we'd rarely get from human beings. Hugs for you!

tooheartbroken - I am really hopeful to see my little fluffy in Heaven, and of course, all of our ECs, but they have to make that choice. Wish I could choose for them.
The sad thing about the virus our kitty had is that it also means that our surviving cat carries it too. It may not become deadly for him, but it also may become deadly. Bringing another kitten into our house would also give the new kitten this virus and if it is not strong it could mutate and kill the new kitten. It is called FIP, a terrible feline disease. I would absolutely love to have another kitten, but we have to wait for the virus to dissipate in the house and also to see if our other cat will succumb too. Maybe in the new year we can consider it again. I'd love a dozen kittens right now though. For me there is nothing like them.

Oh, I didn't know that you had another cat. Maybe you mentioned it and it slipped my mind. I sure hope that your kitty remains free of that horrible disease and that you can get more furry babies. As far as our EC goes, we need a lot of faith and patience. God is in control. I'm learning that He truly is the only one who will always be there. That His love and grace are sufficient as He says. One day at a time. We'll survive till He takes us home. May He comfort your beautiful heart!
