We treat each other with respect.

Isaiah 40:31 - "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Wishing you peace and blessings.
When I came to DS, I was hoping to find some connections with other human beings outside home for my sanity after feeling very isolated for a long time.In the Physical and emotional abuse support group, I had the chance to mention God in my post and give my little advice to the man advising him to seek God's guidance in his decision making. I realized, again, how not reading the Bible on a regularly basis can weaken a person's faith and trust in God and causes fear and anxiety when he/she is facing difficult situations. I guess God helped me to finally participate in the groups' conversations for my need to talk since talking helps reduce my depressive moods.
By the way, I was a Buddhist and became Christian when I was 20 and still lived in Thailand. I am familiar with the Bible and sermons since I was a church goer and Bible student. I was very shocked and hurt when the depressions illness hit me at 23. Life for me has been very difficult since then but I managed to continue to pray and hold on to the faith, and God was faithful and answered prayers and helped me through my hard times. I have recently started to read the Bible more often and need to do more and hope to able to think positive again no matter the circumstances look at the moment.
May god bless you with His peace and joy as well, and thanks again for your replies to my posts.
Depression hits Christians, unfortunately. Most people do not understand how to minister to depressed people, but just being a friend, is a good start. I also went through depression about 20 years ago, when I got Rheumatoid Arthritis. But it was compounded by a bunch of Word of Faith people telling me I didn't have enough faith for healing, and it was my fault. (One of those people died of breast cancer, the other was saved when his enlarged prostate almost killed him, but a friend took him to the hospital!)
I learned so much from God during that time. You sound like you have had a wonderful faith journey, converting from Buddhism. I was an atheist and New Ager before God saved me, and I praise him every day for his gift of faith.
I am 66, maybe we can be friends? I'll send you a request.
I have known God for 45 years and have been sick with the depressions illness for 42 years (three years after I knew Him!). It has been very rough long years, and I am sometimes surprised how I can live this long. Today God sent me a sweet young girl (lady) in DS to be my friend, and I am very happy to have you as my friend and to be able to communicate with the members in various groups in DS. It is difficult and in some instances to fight life battles alone. I believe and know that God works through prayers, our prayers and others' prayers for us. At the moment I need strength, courage and faith to continue on and will appreciate your prayers and everyone here's prayers for me, and I will remember to pray for you all too. I hope you and everyone have a good day today. Will write more again. Thanks, again, for being my friend.
