Hi, Welcome to the group, ResilienceWarrior! Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am 68 years old, female. I was born and lived in Thailand until the age of 25 and have been living in the U.S. since then. I am married and have one daughter, our only child, who is 37 years old.
I see that you are an advocate for mental health. I have dealt with depression illness since I was 23. This group focuses on Christian subjects. Members share their personal life situations as well, meaning we also talk about other things besides the Bible and God. What we do that is different from most other groups in DS is we try to let God be involved in our lives. I hope you can join in the conversations and start your own posts when you would like to. The group does not have many members left right now. I joined DS and this group about three years ago and hope to help keep this group active so members can have a place to chat about the Bible and God in a peaceful manner and be support for each other. I heard that people with mental illness who believe in a higher power of some sort recover faster from the illness. Please make yourself comfortable and share your advice on how people can cope well with mental health issues. Please tell us a little bit about yourself if you would like to. I have 3 kids. 24. 17. 15. My 17 yr old has become super defiant. He and his 15 yr old sister have on their own decision stopped going to their dads because he and his household is so toxic.My 15 yr old and myself feel like we have to tip toe around my son who is 17. And physically towers over us and out weighs us. He has become emotionally abusive and on the verge of becoming physically...
I hope you'll enjoy reading and posting here. I think Daily Strength is (hopefully) starting to pick up a little activity wise after dwindling for quite a few years. . I've been on daily strength a long time and am a mom to an adult child who has a disability (which was my original reason for joining). I've been a Christian for decades, but due to a difficult start in life and multiple traumas have had some trouble living it out. But God never leaves us and He's helping me as I go along....
