Waiting for home repair.

It has been two weeks since the tree fell on our house and car. I am thankful for God's provisions and guidance and for healing me from the left shoulder's and arm's pains that were caused by me moving and carrying heavy stuffs around the house to clear the path (stairs) to the second floor of the house where the damages are. There are more lifting, carrying heavy stuffs waiting ahead for me to do. Two days ago after the long stress, I felt like I was paralysed. Good news is I feel God has been taking care of us. He gave us what we needed and strength and healing for me. 

 

The home insurance people are still working on getting the estimate of our home's repair cost of the roof and busted walls in the two rooms on the second floor. The first inspector guy who came to look at the house this week said we should not stay inside our house while the repairs are being done but our cats (eight of them) can be in the house. He was not able to give estimate of repair cost because the roof has a tarp covering it, and the doors of the two rooms can't open all the way for him to see the damages. A second inspector, a structural engineer, is coming soon to look at the house.  Please pray for us. I plan to slow down this weekend but need to clear our house more to make space for stuffs that are in the rooms upstairs after the damaged items get sorted out. One of the insurance ladies told me they will pay for the expenses of putting things on that floor in a storage while the house is being repaired. This is such a difficult thing to have happened and I am sending prayers that you get this work done without too much strain on your body. Sometimes I think to myself that my house is too much physical work and am I ready for senior living. Glad your insurance company is being so cooperative. Can you get some high school kids to help you for pay?

We have been so isolated from people, I don't know how to find high school kids. One of the Progressive women said they will help cover expenses of moving things from the second floor out to a storage while the house is being repaired (I did mention it in this post). I am stressed out trying to make space on the first floor for when the stuff that are not damaged upstairs are moved out to sit temporarily. I would rather not have to get anything to a storage. Our basement has very little space left. I haven't had energy and time to throw out old things from it. I can take some of the stuff down there. My daughter's arm hurts so she can't help with moving heavy things. I just have to go slow and try not to use my bad shoulder and arm.

Please pray that I won't hurt myself or fall. I saw online that U-Haul has moving service and will do packaging and loading and unloading but they don't provide the truck. This must be very expensive. There are some old furniture and mattresses in the rooms that need to be removed. I think the contractor may be the one who will get someone to take care of it and add to the cost of repair.

I hope you are doing well yourself. It seems the deadly heat is coming to U.S. I hope everyone in the country has what is needed to stay alive. Thank you for everyone's prayers for me.

Thank you for the links. One of the two women from the insurance company called today to let me know they have not forgotten us. She is in charge of givng money for damaged itmes. They can send someone to look at the stuffs that are damaged and will give us money but we can't open the doors of the two rooms where the stuffs got trapped in. I have no idea what the second inspector, who is supposed to be a structural engineer, will do with the doors. The doors are the pushing forward kind, and the hinges are in the inside. I was very pooped out yesterday and needed to rest. Today I will try to move things on the first floor and go easy on it. My left shoulder and arm hurt on and off. The pains hit after I carried stuffs. I can handle moving things inside the house but taking them to a storage will be too hectic for me to do without help.
