I have been exhaustingly moving one huge pile of things from one side of the living room to the other side so the second home inspector (a structural engineer guy and his helpers) can get to the corner of that side to see what is going on with the walls and ceiling. What I know is the roof got crushed and fell down into one of the two rooms upstairs. We still can't open the doors of the rooms but the inspector said one of his helpers will know how to get the doors out. (Big branches poked through the roof and the debries block the doors). They are supposed to come this Wednesday. On Thursday someone will calculate damaged items in the two rooms and the home insurance will give us some money for them. I am hoping we can stay inside the house while the repair is being done but the first inspector told me we should not be inside the house. I can tell you I don't like this whole thing at all and hope it passes quickly and no one breaks into our house while we are gone. I wonder whether I can switch my brain to enjoy the experience. I sure am thankful we have the home and and car insurance. It could have been worse.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I suspect you will have to move out for maybe even a few months. Not to scare you but this sounds like walls and roof damage. I hope just roof damage. Take this time to relax and rest as much as you can. Hopefully your husband will be okay in this temporary living arrangement.
We stayed at a decent hotel with a bedroom and little kitchenette and living room and table. The washing machines were on our floor. It was near a grocery store and it was okay. Was noisy as our windows looked out on a big busy freeway. We thought it would be 5 days for our mold remediation and it turned out to be about 10 days in the hotel, during a holiday. You do not want to be in there if they find mold and do a proper haz-mat suit clean up and air filtration. The mold gets stirred up and then in the air in the house and is not healthy.

It looks like the roof, different spots of it, is the part that is broken. I hope it won't take them too many days or months to fix it. We will know after the second inspector comes and what the contractor says. So far I talked to only one contractor. One of the two rooms has more damages than the other since the top of the roof broke, and the ceiling dropped down. It is a small room. They call the two rooms attics. The ceiling (top part) of the bigger room is fine.
I was very distressed about moving things from one side of the living room to the other side. I hope I can get it all cleared out before the repair begins. I was able to get a lot of it done. Thanks for everyone's prayer for me. I hope the insurance will help with places for our eight cats to stay at if they can't be in the house. The woman mentioned some temporary rental housing (for us). Our cats have sharp claws. We can trim them but if they stay in a rental house, they will scratch the wood. Let's hope the repair does not take a long time. The contractor who came to look at the house said it will take several days. He couldn't see details of the broken roof and inside the rooms so he couldn't give estimate of cost of repair or time.
Please pray that I will not get injured moving things and that I can get help moving things out. I read that sometimes they have to shut off the water and electricity while doing the repairs. In that case it will be too stressful for the cats and us. These cats are like family members to us. Four of them are about thirteen years old, another one is about two years old, and the three are about one years old. I realized how much I care about them and how I am concerned about their wellbeing. One of them, one of the older ones, has cancer and has been eating less. We probably would want to have her stay with us. I thank you all for your prayers. I hope you and your husband are doing well.
