So we must make a choice to give out treats on this day or not. Because to do this is to be a part of this pagan holiday. This year is over and I did give out treats. I did not decorate my house or carve out pumpkins, but I could have said,"God bless you," to all of those beautiful children who didn't know what they were doing. I must pray hard about this for next year. I know my husband will want to give out treats, thinking it's harmless. I'll have him read what Kathilee posted, maybe it will help.

I remember when I worked at a hospital that there were a lot of co-workers that agreed with the idea that celebrating Halloween was wrong. One said, "Jesus had a holiday (referring to Christmas or Easter), so I guess some people feel the devil needs a holiday, too".

We, as Christians, should know what the "holidays" are really all about.

But, in dealing with non-Christians, we shouldn't tell them what NOT to do. Most people rebel against this. You might be pushing others away from God. My suggestion.....dwell on good, dwell on God. Don't tell them "this is evil!" Yes, it is! But, once again, I emphasize, this pushes people away. "There's that religious nut again." b

Dwell on God. Show others, through your way of living, that there are other options out there.

I am talking more about Christians being deceived by evil and doing many things that promote evil. They just arent aware and if Gods calls some people to reveal the truth to them then I think we have an obligation to speak the truth in an appropriate and loving way!

Very true. I don't cerebrate it. On Facebook I'll see some of my friends that are Christians and they're dressing up and taking their kids trick-or-treating. To me that's exactly like cerebrating in my books.
