TRUE FAITH is the substance of things we hope for and certainty of things we do not see. (Hebrew 11.1)

Mark 11.22 can be literally translated: "Have the faith of God". True, divine faith is not based on anything we can perceive with our senses. No, true faith comes from hearing the Word of God (Rom.10) and combining it with faith in our heart. (Hebr. 4.2) "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him - but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit". (1.Cor.2.9) Only by such faith can we receive the testimony that we please God and have His full approval, just as Enoch received it and was caught up to God, without tasting death. Only by such faith can we, with God, call into existence things that do not exist. (Rom 4.17) By such faith we are God's fellow workers and co-creators.(1.Cor.3.9) Only by such faith can we possess the substance of it, namely, Jesus our wisdom from God, that is, our righteousness, sanctification and redemption (glorification).(1.Cor.1.30) Without the co-operation of their faith, our forefathers - like Abraham - the way could not have been prepared for the Lord Jesus, the eternal Word, to come into the flesh and dwell among us; He, the author and finisher of our faith. One of the last ones of the old-testamental heroes of faith was Mary who received the testimony: "Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said will be accomplished". The Lord also called blessed those who have not seen and yet believed. The Apostle Peter says to the church: "Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you don't see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls...Therefore...set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed".(1. Peter 1.8)
