THE REUNNION

My father and I never really had a close relationship. His emotional annd physical abuse created a gulf between us. Not that it was his fault, he had several emotional and mental issues. But despite these differences I knew deep down in his heart that he loved us all sincerely and deeply. He denied God all of my life. I didn't even know he was Lutheran until he became ill and my Pastor began ministering to him. I was so happy when my Pastor told me of his salvation.

Lately he has been on my mind a lot. I keep thinking of him in the presence of our Lord and of our reunion when I am finally there too. I keep thinking of how I will finally know the love not only of my Father in heaven, in His presence, but the true love of my father.

Thanks for sharing this with us PogoPalOj because I had an earthly father that had similar problems that your father had. I lost my father many years ago, when I was just a young person in my twenties. I will never know for sure if he will be in heaven, because I wasn't with him the month before he passed away of cancer. Only God knows this. I can only hope that my dad made peace with God before passing, and like the thief on the cross, some people make "last" minute decisions to accept Christ. I can certainly hope this is the case for my father who was a very abusive man also. I know that the Lord Jesus forgives everyone of their sins, if they ask Him to and there are not "hopeless" cases to God..none.
Also praying for a happy reunion. This I DO know..heaven will be a very happy reunion with our heavenly Father, and with Jesus for eternity..and we will live forever in peace and joy there!

praise god he knows the intemate parts of usand see the heart.

My motherin law a fun and wionderful lady never spoke about what she be lieved but watched rex humbard faithfully and had his wifes books and watched billy graham, she was a very ill lady and went on only 6 mos after her son and I were married. Itruly believe she was a child of god as she heard the message many times.It is up to god to decideand not us.

I had something similar in my life, Pogo! My father and I were in contact, but we had huge barriers and a bad history. When he was dying last year, I was at his bedside for 5 months. We bonded again, and I had the joy of leading him to the Lord. I am so happy to know that he is with Jesus now.

I just read that death bed conversions are very unusual. But my theory is that near the end, people who were raised in the church, or who heard the message return to the truth. I think that is what happened with my father. Thanks for sharing.
