I'm waiting to leave for work. Trying to stay positive. Family members creating stress and strive. I can't wait to leave. How do you stay positive when the people you love are so negative. I can't disassociate myself from them because they are family. How do you handle these things? What do you do to not allow their crummy attitude to affect you.

I know what you mean. My husband can be very negative and hard to be around. I try to have good boundaries and limit my exposure to him if he is in a bad space. I have to fill myself up with good things and focus on what is good, pure, right, ...

Too much negativity brings me down. There is enough to deal with in a day. I won't be surrounded by negativity on a consistent basis.

Boy can I relate to THIS one! My husband is Bipolar, & lately he is like salt on my open wound... I have to pray every day, just to keep from killing him (kidding) but you can guess the amount of tension I'm talking about! The fact he has this condition should make me all the more compassionate, but its a lot tougher than it sounds! If I didn't live for my hope in Jesus Christ, I would be so out of here, if I could find a way. But when you stop putting your wishes as #1, & remembering how the Good Samaritan ministered to a complete stranger/enemy, its obvious we are to serve (patiently) until the Master calls us home. So keep looking up, my sister! ((hugs))

It's nice to know that I'm not alone. Thank you my friends and I'm praying for you also. It difficult to keep your head above the water, but I need to focus on Jesus and His love, grace and mercy.

I'm hoping the new year will be better. Happy New Year friends!

I just went through all of this in Joyce Meyer's series about about Conflict Free Living and I forget all the various titles but they have to do with strife and how allowing strife in our life moves us away from God's annointing. That series was life changing for me. PTL!!!! If you want to talk more, message me OK?

That sounds wonderful....will look into that book. I think first we need to be role models, and we have to avoid the nagative behavior....even if it means being more independent. My husband is in chronic pain and is seriously driving me loco from his influence on my 3 boys but I will keep him in line, need to pray a whole lot more and giving it all to God and giving all the control away is hard...
