Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Reading over this scripture and the Lord reminded me of what I wrote in the post titled Serpent in the Wilderness. He showed me that the Father looked upon Him, as we must.
Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Jesus paid the penalty not for His sin, He didn't have any, but for my sin. My sin was buried with Him. Verse 6, Knowing this, that our old man (nature of sin that we received from the first man Adam) is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be DESTROYED, That henceforth we should not serve sin. Verse 5 if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also of RESURRECTION. Verse 7 for he that is dead is free from sin. Verse 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but ALIVE unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I'M ALIVE! I was once dead, but I was born again, that old man utterly destroyed and I received a new nature, being made a new creature in Christ Jesus. Now since I have been born again I can yield myself unto God, as one that is alive from the dead, and my members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Sin no longer has dominion over me!!! Praise Jesus, He lit my candle and made me righteous, so that I can boldly run to the throne of GRACE to find help in my time of need. For grace does not exist so I can live any way I want to, but that I might be transformed. Now I can prove what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. I have been made a son!!!! For the Father has life within Himself, He gave to Jesus (the first born of many brethren) to have life within Himself, and Jesus has given that same life to me. Need more good news? Jesus sent another!! The Holy Spirit!

You mentioned Jesus sent the Holy Spirit.
My experience in faith is to grow spiritually and in faith and knowledge of God we are transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit and the Bible. As new believers fellowship with other believers, sermons, and Bible study are important to the spiritual growth and growing in faith. Among the three important things, faith, hope and love, love is the most important according to the Bible.
We can be so holy all we want for God but if we have no love our holiness (or God's holiness that is shown through our lives) will mean nothing but a noisy sound. Through the work of the Holy Spirit in us (and the words) others will see in us the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are
-charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, long-suffering, gentleness, faith, modesty, etc.

I love Romans. I memorized most of Romans 5. My next project is to memorize all of Romans 8. Romans 6 is another good chapter, too. Thanks for posting this!
