Thank you for your prayers. As it turned out, the cat started to be in heat so we are not sure whether she is actually pregnant or not. My daughter read about this situation called "simultaneous abortion" in cats, and we suspect it could be the case with our cat since she did get very fat all of a sudden which caused us to think she is pregnant. We should have taken her to the vet. I may call the vet on Monday if we are still not sure what is going on. I am okay either way as long as she is safe and well. She looks fine right now. Thanks everyone who prayed for her.

Oh, I've never heard of "simultaneous abortion" before, but I wonder if she's talking about "spontaneous abortion" - that's just a longer phrase that means "miscarriage ".

Anyway, as long as she's fine that's what matters.

I think you are right. It is called spontaneous abortion. She has been in heat and crying very loudly, and her nipples show no sign of changes in the way pregnant cats' nipples should look. It seems the best to do now is to take her to the vet to make sure she is not pregnant.

My daughter saw two four-month-old cats in a Humane Society that are for adoption. One of them has eye problem, quite serious and needs eye drops everyday. My daughter was interested in getting them but I told her a cat with vision problem won't have the chance to survive inside our house because they could disappear into some piles of things and couldn't find their way out. They prefer that the two cats go to the same home but are willing to let them go separately. I am sufficiently pooped out now trying to help cats and need a real break. No new cats for me right now. It was very strange how we thought our cat is pregnant, and we didn't bother to take her to the vet and just went overboard preparing spaces for her and her non-existing kittens. It is okay though. My daughter got to reorganize the clutter in her bedroom. I will let you know the update on this cat situation. I will go to PM to continue what you and I had talked about. Thanks MelT, we don't think the cat is pregnant and don't know whether she was to begin with. She has been in heat and her nipples show no changes. The mystery was how she got so fat all of a sudden and acted like she constantly looked for places to hide.

Thank you so much for your prayers for her. Our house is not good for more cats or for a pregnant cat to give birth in. I don't think we imagined it about her belly being huge but it seems to get small now.

Thank you. The cat's belly has not gotten bigger, and her nipples still don't look like pregnant cats' nipples. I am debating whether to take her to the vet. I hope there are no dead kittens inside her stomach that won't be able to come out. She has been in heat for many days. I hope you are doing well and have a good sleep tonight.
