We treat each other with respect.
Its hard to stay connected during these times, but God's got you. He will never let go HOME till its your time. Are you on any medication for the depression and anxiety? Perhaps a trip to a pyschiatrist would help.
I've been off my medication for over a year now and haven't seen my psychologist since October last year everyone says Im better but Im not feeling better anymore and I don't want to go back on medication and I can't seem to tell people what's going on... Im scared i don't want to go back down that path...
Well I can offer myself. I am your servant and friend and brother in Christ. I can also offer you God's word.
Seek the truth and you will find it. The truth will set you free. God is the truth.
CAst your cares upon the lord and He will sutstain you.
Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.
During the darkest hours of my life...I began listening to scripture alot. I drove a truck for a living, and had scripture on cassette. I listened as I worked, ten to twelve hours a night six nights a week. Eventually i wanted even more than this and I began listening as I slept also.
Nowadays I still listen as I sleep, and I probably average four hours a day of listening to God's word. IF you do not have God;s word on cd there are many sites where you can listen to it for free and even some others where you can download different versions. I spend my life now snuggled up in God's strong secure arms and I no longer suffer in the ways I used to.
God is the answer. Your difficulties are not too big for God to handle, Open your hands and heart to God, Thank God even for the depression as you have it, trust him with it, He uses all things for good. He can lift you up out of your despair.
I encourage you to continue posting. WE are here to support you and love you, just as God loves us.
God got me reading the psalms, because I had heard that Billy Graham read 5 every day. In those psalms I found every emotion and feeling and type of pain and anger. The people that wrote the psalms were real and understood me. I would say, just try and read a few or even one a day for a start.
From there, God helped me get off my meds, with the help of my pdoc. But I committed that if I was feeling bad, I would not refuse to take them. So last year, when my father was dying, my anxiety was so high, I started taking an anti-anxiety med. It took me a while to get off, after my father passed. So do not give up the thought of taking meds - you may need them again for a while.
God's word will set us free. But there is no shame in taking meds to help with diseases. Luke, who wrote Luke and Acts was a physician. It is said, he often recounts his stories from the perspective of a doctor. So even Jesus kept a doctor around as a friend - and Paul too! Please don't worry about what people think. It is between you and God. I want to pray for you and I encourage you to keep coming and posting and reading the other threads. I just read through the testimony thread, and I was blessed to tears! God works in such amazing ways.
Here is my life verse, which has gotten me through the last 3 years of pain and suffering, and constant med failures.
"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5
"Creator God, I come before you today and bring Kimmy before your throne. I pray that you would comfort and touch her with your peace, love and forgiveness. Show her the way out of this terrible depression and anxiety. Use the doctors, medicine and especially the Bible, and I pray that your presence would become real, and that Kimmy could know you are working all things together for good. Give her a glimpse of your hope, that has come because of your son, Jesus, and flood her life with the gentle but powerful presence of the Holy Spirit. I thank you for Kimmy and in all you have done in her life, and all you are going to do. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
((((hugs)))) Maddie
p.s...I was blessed by your prayer for our sister Kimmy dear Kristie..thank you for posting it. Romans 8 verse 38 is my life verse.."nothing can separate me from the love of God."
The entire book of Romans is a wonderful book..I can see your life verse comes from that book too.
Maybe Kimmy, if you read the book of Romans today, you will also be blessed.
You are free to heal now. I pray you will find the healing God wants foryou.
It's called "YOU LIFT ME UP" by The Afters.

Here's a song by a fairly new contemporary Christian artist: JJ Heller. Her songs are upbeat and always cheer me up. This song is called "Your Hands"..hope you enjoy listening to it. The message in the lyrics are very Biblical, and the song itself is fun to listen to. Let me know what you think.
