I was just leaving the office to walk to the shops to buy lunch and I passed an area where the lawn had been freshly mowed. I don't know about you guys, but I just LOVE the smell of freshly mown grass - it puts me in an instant time warp and transports me back to my childhood. I remember my Dad mowing the lawn, or the big tractor mowing the school field...weekends as a kid...all those cool things. The smell also makes me think of summer, which is rapidly approaching here in NZ. And then I just sent up a short prayer of thanks to God for the gift of that freshly cut grass and the lovely memories/feelings it brought along with it.

With me, what really brings me in awe are abandoned, worn-down, uninhabited rustic barns in a really big field. I don't know why, but I feel like going in one of those big fields and run and run. It's just so beautiful! Add maybe just one tree somewhere in the field then it's perfect. :)
