“You shall have no other gods before Me.” - (Exodus 20:3)
Pastor Chuck Smith once told a story about a Papua New Guinea tribe that had a widespread birth defect. Everyone had one leg shorter than the other. Interestingly, the idol they worshipped also had one leg shorter than the other. They had created a god in their own image.
I believe this is the same direction America is going. When people say, “I am spiritual, I am just not religious,” it is code for “I’m making it up as I go.”
People effectively make a god in their own image when they say things like, “My god would never judge a person” and “My god would never condemn two people of the same sex living together in a committed relationship.” But they just made up their own god. And their god, essentially, is them.
What is the first of the Ten Commandments? “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3). What is the second commandment? It is related to the first: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image” (verse 4). Idol worship is putting anyone or anything in the place of God.
I read an article in USA Today about the fastest growing spiritual group in America, which claims no affiliation with any faith. The article states, “This group, called ‘Nones,’ is now the nation’s second-largest category only to Catholics, and outnumbers the top Protestant denomination, the Southern Baptists. The shift is a significant cultural, religious and even political change.”
It has been said, “When a man stops believing in God he doesn’t then believe in nothing, he believes in anything.”
We can’t edit the Bible. We can’t say, “I like this part of the Bible and not that part.” If we do, then we will end up with a god that is not the God of the Bible.

We need to get back to the basics of Christianity, and worship the One and Only True God of the Bible.
There are many references in the Bible about false teachers and false prophets appearing in the last days..and that people would follow them.
2 PETER chapter 2 verses 1 - 3
(Recommend reading the full first and second chapter of 2 Peter)
vs. 1. "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them - bringing swift destruction on themselves.
vs. 2. "Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
vs. 3. "In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping."
My prayers are that we stay as close to God and His Truths (Holy Bible) as possible, then we are less likely to fall into the traps of false teachers/prophets. This is a really important topic.
God...the three in One..the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit..who guides us today..this is the ONE true God of the Bible. I pray the HE Himself will keep His faithful ones from being deceived.
Hope that we can discuss this openly and in the Spirit of God's love.

We can't cheery pick the word of God nor can we just wing it. It is sad, so many people seem to think they know better than God.
Let us pray that they find their way back to Him.
THAT STUDENT WILL HEAR THIS FOR AT LEAST 12 YEARS.
THEIR CONCLUSION WILL BECOME ONE OF THAT I AM A GOOD PERSON. I AM SO GOOD THAT GOD WILL GLADLY ACCEPT ME INTO HEAVEN, I HAVE JOINED A CHURCH; I HAVE GIVEN MONEY TO THE CHURCH; AND I AT LEAST GO TO CHURCH ON EASTER AND CHRISTMAS.
THEN WHEN THEY HEAR THE TRUTH THAT MAN IS BORN A SINNER AND HAS A SIN NATURE THAT IS DETERMINED TO CAUSE US TO SIN AGAINST GOD; THEY WILL HAVE A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING IT.
ALSO IN OUR SEMINARIES THIS SAME THOUGHT IS ALSO TAUGHT. SO WE NOW HAVE "PREACHERS" WHO PREACH THE SOCIAL GOSPEL AND NOT THE TRUE GOSPEL OF SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH. JUST MY OPINION. OK?
I have faith that his eyes will be opened to the truth..I ask the Lord to send workers out to him to show and teach him the truth. I do my part but its not enough.
Also What really rings true to me is the worshipping of idols other than God.. I have been guilty of putting other things or people above the Lord in the past.
If we think about our days how much time is devoted to loving God, worshipping God and serving God by being obedient?

I hope that solid Christians won't be deceived by what is going to be presented by the upcoming movie.
To deny that there will be judgement for sin..well, this is a lie!
God will punish sin..in the final judgement, not a single soul will escape His justice!
Yes..the penalty for sin is "eternal death"..that's exactly why Jesus came..to be our final sacrifice, to bring atonement, forgiveness for all the sin in the world..yours, mine, every single sin ever committed.
Jesus took my penalty.,,and yours....it was my sin...and yours...that put Him on the cross. Without Jesus' sacrifice and shedding His blood, I would not have any eternal life with God. It's all about Jesus coming to offer this redemptive gift..the gift of salvation. We simply have to "believe in Jesus" and accept this amazing gift!
So many people today don't want to face the fact that there will be a final judgement by God. Yes, God is a perfectly loving God..AND He is a God of justice. That's why He sent Jesus to earth..to redeem any who would accept His gift of forgiveness. My heart rejoices in the fact that Jesus died in my place..Praise His Holy Name...
Praying that many will accept Jesus' sacrifice as well..and I also pray that the enemy doesn't deceive any more Christians through a lot of the falsehoods that are out there!
