there is nothing that says that in forgiving we must forget. That would be idiotic. Forgetting would mean not learning anything from it. There is no "acting like it didn't happen"... forgiving doesn't erase it, it just releases it.

And there is nothing saying that forgiving means keeping someone in your life. You can forgive someone for hurting you and still have nothing to do with them aside from being kind and civil if you should see them in passing. You can still pray for them, you can even still love them... that doesn't mean that you have to give them free passage to continue to be in your life, or that you have to somehow ease their own sense of guilt by pretending that they didn't hurt you.

Just tell the person that you are not in a position to be friends with them, because they hurt you, and while you are working toward forgiving them, you are not prepared to make yourself vulnerable to them by extending yourself in friendship. Perhaps at a later time that will come naturally, but you don't need to make any promise of such a thing. If it is going to happen, you'll both find out then.

WOW, SOUNDS LIKE YOU REALLY HAVE A HARD SITUATION. WHEN WE ARE BETRAYED BY LOVED ONES, IT'S SOOOO HARD TO KNOW WHAT TO DO.

WHAT I DID WAS,
FIRST, I ASKED GOD TO FORGIVE ME.
BECAUSE I WAS SO FULL OF ANGER THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD FORGIVE THOSE THAT HURT ME. SO I HAD TO ASK THE LORD TO FORGIVE ME FOR MY SINS SO THAT I COULD GO ON.
SECOND I ASKED THE LORD TO GIVE ME STRENGTH. IT'S ONE THING TO FORGIVE. IT'S ANOTHER TO FORGET. SO, AS HARD AS IT WAS I FORGAVE THOSE WHO HURT ME.
I DON'T TALK TO THEM ANYMORE. IT'S ONE THING TO FORGIVE. AS A CHILD OF GOD WE MUST FORGIVE IN ORDER TO BE FORGIVEN. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE HAVE TO ALLOW THOSE WHO HURT US INTO OUR LIVES. WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT.
TIME REALLY DOES HEAL ALL WOUNDS. THE PAIN DOESN'T ALWAYS GO AWAY, BUT IT DOES IT GET EASIER. ESPECIALLY WITH CHRIST BY YOUR SIDE.
SO JUST TAKE ALL THE TIME THAT YOU NEED AND STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.
HE WILL GUIDE YOU AND WILL PUT YOU ON THE PATH THAT YOU ARE DESTINED TO BE ON.

I'm so sorry. Allow the Lord to heal your broken heart. Pray, get in the word. Forgiving them even when she is rubbing it in your face is very hard, but it must be done. When you do by faith, It frees you from the bondage of bitterness. Weep at Jesus feet. Cry out to him, yell if you have to(He can take it!) It happened to me. I was engaged to be married and he married someone else! I had to see them together at church all the time. Oh Boy was I crushed and rejected. Not to be overly judgmental, your friend seems to have an insecurity problem and actually it's sad to say that this person might not really be a friend since friends typically don't do things like that. What would set people off like that would be to not let it get to you. First, pray on strength especially when you're around her, then live your life as what the Lord would want you to do. If you do that, she might realize that she is in the wrong and hopefully change her ways. We'll be praying for you.
