Example... wine. Some believe that because Christ made wine, it is fine to drink wine. Thats a reasonable assertion. But for me, having suffered oppression from the spirit of addiction to alcohol in the past, to ignorantly lay claim to this as a justification for me to go buy a bottle of wine is like using a loophole to break the law. I know that drinking draws me away from God and into sinful behavior.... if nothing else it shortens my patience and quickens my anger response... Knowing this about myself, I do not need the bible to clearly state "drinking is a sin"... because for me, under the conviction of the spirit, knowing my heart and the affects of that thing upon me and my relationship with God, it is a sin for me to drink. I won't say it is a sin for another, but I would caution someone who felt that drinking was something which was ok on the grounds that Christ made wine. The veil of deception is crafty, and if we want to hear a voice in our spirit telling us... its ok... do it... did God REALLY say not to... then we have to ask ourselves if that is Gods voice or the serpent in the garden of our lives. That is for each person to determine on their own.
If you know something is wrong but do it anyway, will God forgive you? I believe He will, if your repentance is sincere... but typically the thing that brings true repentance is the incredible aftermath of sin which makes us regret having made the wrong choice. The turmoil that ensues from disobedience is brought on by the choice to sin. Why bother with the turmoil when you have been given the ability to know what you SHOULD do, that it will help you avoid those unnessary repercussions?
My issue is not with such decisions. For me, the struggle is typically knowing and discerning what it is I SHOULD do..... then, in yeilding, the follow through is easy, even if its not what I might prefer! Thank God He knows better than I do what is good for me, and preserves me for His purpose... IF I LET HIM.
He went to the extereme of my son and my dog being off in the grass in a neighbors yard..snatching the wheel towards them and flooring the gas, My son barely go out of the way, he then chased the dog back into the drive and she was trying to escape him and he ran her over on purpose. I filed charges and am not dropping them. This was a sensless act of cruelty and could of killed my child as well.
He is being charged with 2cts of reckless driving, one count of recless endangerment on a child, and one count of cruelty of an animal by means of intintional hitting an animal with an automobile..Alot of people prayered for her and I thank so many for it,I stayed up the entire night with and my family was on stand by incase she passed they knew i would fall to peices...So yes I had to really fight what I wanted to do last night and this morning when I saw his truck next door....I wanted to be a man for five minutes...But am glad God is showing me the right way and I have friends who have enough sence to say call the police..love ya, and big hugs
Lord Jesus,
I ask that you come into this sisters heart. I ask that you talk to her and touch her and show her the way. Lord lead her onto the right path and that in everything she does, may she do it to glorify your Holy Name Jesus.
Amen.
God Be With You My Sister.
Hugs, Niecy.
I've been praying for truth and discernment. Telling God I want to obey, please help me and also, please help me deal with emotions or feelings thru and after the action/decision. one biggie: forgiveness. even as I am forgiving, often I will not "feel" like it. But when I ask God to deal with the emotions surrounding it, HE does!
