I haven't been on DS for a while and I'm quite behind. DS is not what is bothering me at the moment. Ahead of time, I will tell you this isn't something I wanted to share but it is a big concern of mine.
I've been on Facebook as of late and I know some members of my church goes on there as well. What's bothering me is that these people seem to waste time on themselves and really only care about themselves. There is no mention of God or the love for Christ on there. There are no postings of anything much to do with Christianity and God. I've posted some of these that I felt the Lord has led me to do.
What really irks me is that these people seem to get the most replies from other Christians, yet when me or a couple other people actually posts something Christian or related to Christ, there is no response, including from my Christian friends at church. This is NOT to say that they don't view what I or somebody else posts. I'm just saying that it seems that the non-Christian talk gets the most responses among even professed believers. Maybe that's why Christianity isn't really growing is because as Christians, the world looks at the ones who don't seem to be acting different from the world, thus are confused and won't have anything to do with becoming a Christian.
I'll pray because this is heavy on my heart and I know the Lord can change things in the blink of an eye. We all need to pray that yes, we can have fun, but we also need to be more open to the Lord and rely on Him instead of ourselves and small groups. The Lord CAN and WILL use us as a huge team, helping each other out and reaching to the outside world.

I avoid any Facebook or myspace just because I don't feel that people are honest on them. Seems like a place where you can pretend to be who you are not. I'm praying as well.

I also don't have a Facebook or MySpace account. I think you hit the nail on the head, however, speaking of those who profess to be Christian. That's where the whole deception lies. Anyone can call themselves Christian because they belong to a church or go to church. That's not it at all. To me, being a Christian is having the Spirit of Christ dwelling in me, living His life through me. To be a Christian is to "die" to yourself daily and pick up your cross and follow Jesus. To be a Christian is not doing your own will but doing the will of the Father. This Laodicean age is the most deceptive of all ages because the devil is so good at deceiving people into thinking that they are right with God when they really aren't. Yes, it will take prayer warriors to pray for lost loved ones, lost friends. I will also continue to pray for the lost because I love to see a lost soul won for Christ...all of Heaven rejoices when just one sinner repents. God bless you all!

I have both a myspace and facebook and I can agree with you 100%. My boyfriend and I have had many discussions about this and have even brought it up to his family because they all have a facebook and him and I are the only ones who agree with you. This is something I will lift up in prayer and trust in the Lord to help fellow Christians to realize this. God bless you!

PPeru I can certainly understand your disappointment. Just remember that all disappointment is from misplaced expectation. Your assessment of the situation I sure concur with. I sit around the pool every day with my study Bible in front of me and I'm reading and praying and not too many folk bother me. I have, however asked God to use me and I was able to talk with a collage professor and her boyfriend about the Lord and now we exchange e-mails. Of all things, she asked me about Jehovah Witnesses and she wanted to know what to say to the person to get him to leave her along. I told her to recite John 3:16. She didn't know it so I showed it to her in my Bible. She said, "Wow." and we started our relationship. Pray for me to help these two. BTW, he is a numbers man, finance wise for a Christian publishing company but is eclectic in his beliefs. I will get to challenge him at a later date unless the Lord comes first and He very well may. That is a wonderful testimony Stephano! I will keep in prayer that the Lord use you as a vessel to continue to witness to these two people! I also agree with you that the Lord may come very soon! "And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!"
