moorea944, sorry, but you're wrong on that count. Yes, today we have many "anti-christs", but they're like what you said--against Christ. However, this is also two fold. In the book of Revelation and for that matter, Daniel in the OT, the main Anti-Christ is potrayed. In Revelation, this being is also known as the Beast from the Sea.

Don't be deceived into believing there is no such thing. The Bible states that there is in various places and the Books of Daniel and Revelation are not the only two books that has the Anti-Christ in them.

Where and how do you know that Satan, the devil, and Lucifer was "put in" the Bible after it was written? Where do you get that information from?

The Bible is true and accurate 100 percent of the time. We can tell be looking around us and since this Book mentions the Antichrist and the fact that he is actually going to be on the scene, then there will be a such being. Will that happen in our lifetime? That question is to be seen.

hey PenquinPeru, thanks for your words. one of the things that i love to do is study the bible. but i mean really study it... i have Hebrew and Greek bibles that i study alot too. the bible was written in Hebrew first and then Greek. then i think in around 400 AD it was copied to latin for Rome.
yes, the bible is true. but over thousands of years of different religions and copies, words were put in. i'm trying to figure out what you say i'm wrong in...... do you mean that the anti-Christ mentioned in the bible is going to be the Devil or Satan??? just curious.

you just cant read the bible and take it word for word in "some cases". if that was the case, we would believe that there would be monsters with 5 heads and 10 horns. Or......... Lucifer............"the fallen angel" First of all, angels cant fall from Grace or Heaven. Lucifer is mentioned in Isaiah. If we just read that and dont try to look into it, we think it's a fallen angel. but it's not. they are talking about King Nebacanessa(spelling) of Babalyon...... so do we take the bible at 100% accuratecy???????????????????

moorea, you're right that the Bible's original languages was Hebrew, and Greek. Also, Aramaic was during the time of Jesus.

The best material to get to understand the Scriptures better is the Strongs Concordance. I have one and I study it from time to time. It brings me the definitions of words used in the Bible in Hebrew, Aramic, and Greek. It's a very powerful tool.

You asked me if the Antichrist is going to be the Devil or Satan. The answer to that is no, but he will be like the son of Satan, like Jesus is the Son of God.

In Daniel, it mentions about the beast with seven heads, etc. That is not to be taken literally. For a brief rundown, in the book of Daniel, the prophet Daniel had a dream and the heads and horns were visions in that dream. They stood for different things.

If you take a peek in one of my posts titled "Lucifer and Satan", you'll get an understanding of both Lucifer and Satan. Once again, the Bible has many different meanings for Satan (snake, beast, the Prince of the Air, etc.) in the Old Testament. HOLY angels can't fall from grace. However demons did because they sinned. Since angels, who have been in the presence of God since the beginning knows inheritely between good and evil, those that chose Lucifer's (later Satan's) route, were also cast out and in so doing, became the demons we know today.

Yes, the Bible is 100 percent accurate. Look at today's times to see why. It was written long ago and is now coming to pass. Even the prophesies about Jesus (over 100) all came to pass. The odds of one man accomplishing all those prophesies to a tee is astronomical!

As I have posted in the revelations thread concerning the 7 headed beast with ten horns. Satan is known as what? The red dragon that called the beast from the sea. That beast symbolised the Roman empire, which is also considered the "anti-christ". The 7 heads represents the seven hills of palastine on which the roman empire was built and the 10 horns symbolised the 10 kingdoms which was apart of the Roman empire. The sea is symbolising great commotion among the masses of people. Daniels vision of the beast is the same beast in revelations. Otherwise, what was daniels vision about?

Im curious to know what is coming to pass in these days that Jesus prophesised about or the bible, that already hasnt happened in the past.

I keep hearing revelations being quoted to support peoples beliefs in end times prophecies. Yet God clearly states at the end of the revelation chapters, what the symbolism means. Yet people still ignore it or just dont want to see it. Instead We have many people today teaching false teachings about the end times or just interpreting scripture the way they "think" it should be taught. Do You think that the 12 apostles were teaching about the end times? No because its not in scripture and its not what Jesus wanted to have taught to the church.

I meant I'm curious about the future. I'm no prophet myself, so I'm living as I go. However, looking at what is happening now, it doesn't take any stretch of the imagination that prophesies are coming to pass. Events such as Isreal becoming a nation in 1948, to the way our society treats one another which is found in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--having a form of godliness but denying its power..."

Sadly, I have to check off each one off that list. That IS scripture and it is happening now. We must be awake especially now and reach the lost. We are living on barrowed time and always be prepared to meet Jesus.

Dont You realise that all those things in 2 Timothy has been happening all through out history? You are using society today as the prime reason for these things to be end time prophecies. All You have to do is look at the roman empire, what do You think they were doing? They were doing EVERYTHING that is stated in 2 Timothy and where does the book of 2 Timothy take place? Somewhere in the Romen empire perhaps? And thats just the Roman empire and not the other empires of the past. There is more to 2 Timothy then just those passages. Taking one part of it and saying this is the sign of the end of days is not teaching the whole book. And lastly, who was the second book of Timothy written to?

You can also check off all those things in the past as well. That is scripture happening then.

Generally, if you say Scripture doesn't affect us now is like saying the Bible in itself doesn't apply to our lives and I wholeheartedly have to disagree on that. Yes, 2 Timothy and many other passages in the Bible were written for that audience during that period of time. What you're failing to understand is that many points in Scripture is two-fold. In this case, we're looking at a two-fold situation. Like 2 Timothy 3, when that passage was written, it was for the audience of that time period AND ours as well. It's as simple as that.

The situation is that all Scripture applies to us. Try to understand the depth of it. Paul wrote Timothy to give him encouragement and instruction. Both books were written for him.

It all comes down to this: If the scriptures are not relevent to us now as it was then, then you as well disregard it as merely a history book and nothing else. The book is alive and well. That is what makes it so powerful.

the angels were made perfect and they cannot sin. it says that in the bible. they cannot fall out of Grace and fall to earth.

If this conception were true (which we fervently thank God it is not!), and if rebellion of holy immortals is possible, then the present heavenly condition among the angels, and the future promised immortal condition of the Redeemed, who are to be 'equal to the angels' (luk 20:36), is no improvement on this present vale of evil, uncertainty and tears.
If sin is possible in the eternal, immortal state, then what is it all worth? What is the purpose of striving for it?

Umm Moorea, dont You know that God gives all His creation, including heavenly beings with a "choice" to worship Him. Its not something that is forced upon anyone to worship God. Satan made His bed and now He has to lay in it. I noticed in another post You posted something from a mormon website, so I am guessing You are a mormon but I could be wrong. I love the Youtube video You keep posting. I also noticed thats its done with windows movie maker as well. So I'm not going to take this persons word on who satan is when its done from someones basement.

Also, what about the deal satan made with God about Job? Are You saying God was talking to Himself concerning this deal? Or that He was talking to "sin" as You say satan is? PLease explain.

hey JGrillot, good posts, thanks. i am not Mormon. that was just a website i liked that explained the truth about satan. i didnt want to take up too much space and everyones time on the message board. im sure that video was not done in someone's basement, alot of us dont have the expensive equipment to do professional videos. and yes, all of us and angells have free choice. and that takes us to Job, like you said. God wasnt talking to himself. He was talking to the angels. verse 6 says, that the children of God came to see him. (angels) and satan.......... satan in the bible means someone that opposes someone or sin it's self, since we know that satan and the devil where put in the bible long after the bible was written. we know that for a fact since the Hebrew and Greek bible dont have such things in their books. AND.... since angels cant sin or fall from grace, that again proves there is no such things are the devil or satan........ so it means that one of the angels were talking about Job to God. but if people want to believe in stuff like that, devil and satan, i have no problem with that at all. if it makes you happy then go for it.

just keep in mind when languages are transfered into other langs, you dont have the same words. so know you have to put something in that makes since to the copyer's beliefs. and over thousands of years of copying and different beliefs, it changes. not alot, but in some words.
