the High Cost of Being Lost Like 12: 16-21
OLDBIKER
Here is a message for this week that I think should cause each of us to stop and think for a minute about those around us.
The high cost of being lost today, is not a popular subject in today's world.
Many preachers today preach about everything except the Lost condition of mankind. They would rather be politically correct than to be Spiritually bold.
Many preachers today preach a "feel good" message, they promise happy times, prosperous times and "if you think it, you can have it" messages.
In today's Scripture, we find a man who lost it all.
His happiness was limited to Happenings on earth, vs- 16. By man's means he was successful, everything was going good, farming had made him happy and content.
Stop and think for just a minute. A drought could have devastated him. A flood could have ruined him. A windstorm could have stunned his finances. He had no security but in himself to face the unknowns of life.
Look at today, financial institutions are failing, banks failing, investments are being lost every day, businesses are going under. Investments today are risky business to say the least.
His Holdings we limited to harvests. He asked himself "What shall I do?. His wealth had corrupted and complicated his life. Look at the many lottery winners of the past 20 years. Some have committed suicide, some have went insane and some have ended up bankrupt. This man in the Scriptures had no thought of helping or sharing with others.
His Hopes were in the Horizon that he could see. He felt at ease for retirement, eating, entertainment but, he was not prepared for Eternity!!!
Many people today are like this rich man. They are Asset rich but Spiritually Bankrupt. They invest in temporal things that rust out, wear out and rot out. Matt. 6: vs 19-20 tells us where to place our riches.
I often visit the graves of those that I tried to win to Christ, before they died. Some of these are ex-bikers that I rode with. I ask these 3 questions.
1. What do you think now?
2. How do you feel now?
3. What would you change now?
We as Christians, Pastor's and preachers need to be trying to win our friends and loved ones to Christ before it is Eternally too late.
In Christ.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

Luke 12:16-21 (New King James Version)
16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: âThe ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, âWhat shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?â 18 So he said, âI will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, âSoul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.ââ 20 But God said to him, âFool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?â
21 âSo is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.â
