I just left (fled) what I have now discovered is an N to the Nth degree, I am worried that courts will not hear me as he alreay had the family court couslelor under his charm and she said it did not appear that i was very scared of him at all! Of course I wanst we were in the ocurthouse in public, why would he be anythong but behavior?? I know this the facade must be kept. I do have the facts though, he was chargred with assualt(on me) and served tiem, however it will hurt me that i returned afterwards, a criminal record all viloent crimes, and 4 DUI's whcih support my claim about alcohol and rug abuse. THe balme is squrleay on ly shoulders, I coused this< i lfet I am abusive etc etc
I knew that eventually he would get contact so I made verbal agreement with him for contact and financial and made it clear that if there were any issues of abuse etc then trial would proceed, well that worked for about a month,
the week of pretrial, it is on Thursday, we were in town so I asked if he wanted extra time as he is always bitching about the 4 days a month he gets, he said sure then Friday came,
he managed to turn this around into a selfish act by me...I had plans, needed someone to watch kids so I should get real he is not with me anymore and has a life!
He had plans, a life now and how doare I ask him to take his kids???? His firends were in the room and he was drinking...so other comments made like DO yoiu have a lawyer...are you ready becuase I have one and Im ready to go. Again we made an agreement, verbal only, for access, would have one more date to have our agreement made legal and done!!! But to say that she came to me and offered me access, rights etc would have let down the maks of the poor poor man whise crazy gf left him and stiole his childeren,
So while it may be easier to just make an agreement at the end ot he day, mt original response will go to trail, lawyer or no lawyer
I requested supervised visits until he completed anger management, a course for men who abused women, drug and alcohol and communication after separation. He says he will give up parental rights and quit his job before he does this
Disgusting human to threaten that...but at least in our province he can be ordered to pay original amount if found that he is under-working, quits a high paying job to take lower etc. even if he follows through and gives up parental rights...which if he is going to threaten i wish he would just do it so we can move on...
I can relate and hope that courts will assist me, but he is a master manipulator it is almost better to make agreement, because I don't feel he will follow thorough on any of it anyways, he is very selfish and kids are too much responsibility for him full time, he cant take care of himself, had to find someone else quickly to ensure that he was taken care of,
Not quite sure what to do....I am scared to trust the courts and HE can afford a lawyer....My fear is that my kids will continue to witness abuse...as it surely will follow him or ever have to hear him go off about me or on anyone else again...he has never abused them but i do notice as they get older that emotional verbal may come in because he has no ounce of the concept of harm and his part in it, no responsibility taken yet, any ideas?

fyi my asshole bio dad tried to take my mom to court after 10 yrs of not seeing my bro and i (family and childrens services took his rights away from him) and my bro and i were able to make our decision on if we wanted visits or not at ages 10 and 11. I live in ontario and the judge specifically told him that if we didnt want to visit he wasnt going to force us to visit.
my sons dad is an ass too. little man was conceived bc my ex refused to take no for an answer when he was drunker than a skunk. 2 duis, driving with a suspended license and spent 7 days in jail and was ordered to have a breathalizer installed in his car but he denies that he has a drinking problem. i was fortunate enough that my ex decided to relinquish all rights. he is not paying support right now bc that was the only way hed walk away. this is an aout of court agreement which we will still need to go back to court for, but the asshole is waiting until i am off disability to have the agreement approved by a judge. not sure if the judge will order him to continue paying support or not.
canadian family law states you can choose not to see your child(ren) but you are still responsible for support. it will be interesting to see what happens then
my ex stopped coming to his in house visits with my son because he hated being supervised by my mom. his mom didnt do anything to assist him in becoming a better parent and he refused to take parenting classes so he accused me of withholding access. he also didn`t like that i refused to let anyone from his side of the family visit with my son in house because he kept bringing ppl who were ill around my son whom didnt have his first round of needles and was really tiny. i had to keep battling illnesses with my son for the first 9 months. it comes very handy in court.
