Need child custody advice please ASAP

I'm an idiot. I missed the date to file my paperwork with the court, to establish custody of my daughter. I was trying to get an attorney but I didn't get money in time and now I may lose custody of my daughter!!! I might die over this, what do I do?

I m not sure about your situation but I don't think you have a deadline to file for custody
The principle is that custody is shared and if the other parent files for sole custody you need to fight back
So my advice would be to go see a attorney as soon as possible and understand your options

I had to represent myself against an attorney because I couldn't afford one but my ex could. It took 6 years for me to get primary physical and sole legal custody, and part of this was learning how the system worked so I could represent myself. I also won 4 appeals to the Supreme Court of Nevada.
