Hello All! I'm new here and I'm going through a divorce. This process has been so confusing to me and it seems like no one is willing to help. My (I don't know what to call him) Soon to be Ex husband (?) filed for divorce. My issue is that I want to move to a different city and he won't allow my son to come with me. I don't know what the chances are for me to be able to move with my son. I don't want to take my son away from him, I would never do that. But he is not willing to compromise anything, not having him for the summer, holidays, long weekends, etc.
A little bit on why I'm moving: I want to move to be with my partner. She lives 300 miles away. She can't move as she is going through the Sheriff's process and watches over her Grandmother. My family has turned against me thanks to this man and therefore, there's nothing left for me here. I don't want to spend money on an attorney and I have tried several times to come to an agreement but he won't budge. Do I really have to stay in this city just because he won't compromise? It's so frustrating and stressful. Does anyone have any idea on what my chances are?
I had to represent myself against an attorney because I couldn't afford one but my ex could. It took 6 years for me to get primary physical and sole legal custody, and part of this was a relocation request which I won on (to move from Reno, NV to Vegas, NV). I also won 4 appeals to the Supreme Court of Nevada.
