I know what you mean. I felt the same way about becoming a parent. I was so worried that I wouldn't bond or I would snap or any number of things. I actually took parenting classes while I was pregnant and that helped. I also remind myself often how beautiful and special my kids are to me. I found a love for them I never knew I had and I am glad I became a mother. I am not saying it is not hard work (IT IS), but we deserve to have and be a family like the one we should have had. You just have to know what your triggers are and the areas you really need to work on so that you don't fall into the trap of recycling the abuse.

you can take parenting classes that will teach you how to be a good parent. you can become a foster parent and they also train and teach you how to proper parent.

parenting is actually a job. love is not enough.

I dont mean so much like that, its just its bringing up alot of personal things that i went through to the surface...

I always knew I had issues...although now I know as an emotionaly abused child that I blamed myself.

Anway, I was petrified to become a mother, and resisted for years. When our daughter was born, all this abuse stuff came to a head....I finally figured out who made me into what I was emotionally. Just recently I discovered a name for it.
