I ended a three month long affair with a coworker in January. I struggled with NC for a while but have been working hard to avoid him as much as possible since March. complete NC is impossible due to our office situation but I actively avoid him and probably only bump into him 1-3 times a week and keep the interaction short and polite.
At first, even these short interactions stirred up feelings for him and made things at home rocky (my husband knows about affair but we are trying to work through it). Now, however, when I bump into AF, I don’t feel a whole lot and seem to move on quickly.
My question is, could we be returning to a neutral feeling toward AP this soon (about 5 months post affair) or am I fooling myself. The other good news is that due to our profession, after next week I won’t see him for 2.5 months. Will this help?
A three month long affair is not a long affair, so yes, you are probably getting over him pretty quickly.
Keep the past in the past and focus on the present.
