Hello CA friends,
I was an atheist dating a Christian. During this time of healing, I have a constant replay of a line my ex threw at me when I confessed to him. He said, "You need to get your life right with God." He also said it was a sign from God that he should never marry me. Then of course, he blew me off.
Anyway, his statements shook me to my core. It made me feel like an evil person. So I have been trying to pray and read the Bible and go to church, but it just says stuff like the adulterous woman is going to hell. Everything she touches will turn to dirt. Any man who touches her household will fall. The unforgivable sin is blasphemy against God. Only reason to divorce is infidelity. So even if I wanted to be a Christian, it looks like I blew it.
But what are your beliefs? Do you think there is a god? Do you think the punishment for cheaters is a life full of disaster? These are hard beliefs to accept. I've been reading the Old Testament, and David and Solomon, some of the most respected figures in Christianity, had a whole bunch of wives and concubines. Abraham impregnated his maid, and God blessed Abraham, the maid, and the outside child. Christianity is confusing. I don't need to be confused and depressed.

LOL about JD responses, it's all about faith & yes, I am very important--as we all are--in God's eyes. :) :) Sorry, you must hate that as much as when people tell you "I'll pray for you"
I am a very understanding Christian and it doesn't bother me or insult me to my core if someone else doesn't believe. I have enough relatives that will pin you down to the floor & basically sit on you until you start speaking in tongues, so there ya go. They more than make up for my lack of interest in another person's belief system.
No I don't believe I will get ultimate hellfire & brimstone, but I don't believe I will get any favor either, and that's troubling.
