This is a support group for cheating spouses looking for understanding and strength. Betrayed spouses are welcome to post ONLY if they can do so in a supportive manner (no bashing...these posts will be deleted), and please do not comment on 'Cheaters Only' posts.
Cole posted a link to his new blog post in the NYT article thread but I want to post the link again as a new thread. I have read a lot of things that he has written, (duh) but this blog post, I feel, is really, really good! I believe that by grasping this perspective a lot of CS's can help their BS begin to move forward again and understand a little more fully what transparency really looks like for a successful rebuilding and why.

Yes, one is to get traffic at the blog. Help it to gain more visibility and readers.
It's pretty standard practice to link to articles off-forum. Would be a violation of copyright to post more than what fair use allows (though that part doesn't apply to this use since I hold the copyright).
The blog allows formatting not available in these forums.
Links give the reader the info to go read an article from multiple locations if they so desire that would otherwise clutter up the forums with long posts.
Easier to control copyright issues on your own forum than when it is posted in multiple venues out of your "control."
Links are easier to copy/paste than a long article.
Seems more polite to me. Not so, "in your face" about it. Feels more, "Check it out if you're interested." If not, easy to move on.
There are probably others, but gets into minor details.
