I was curious about something and don't want anyone to take this the wrong way... But as Jesus said there are really just two commandments,love God and love your neighbor as you love yourself. For some reason, I have no trouble with the "Love your neighbor" part because sometimes we need to be commanded to love others because it can be so hard sometimes. But I can't understand why God commands us to love Him. I know I do,with all my heart,ever since I read through the Gospel of Mark late one night 32 years ago,and I knew that Jesus truly was the Son of God and that He took the punishment for my sins and gave me a new life. But I don't need to be commanded to love my Father,I totally adore and worship Him. How can love be a commandment?

Happy Tuesday. I only have a few tasks today. I'm currently enjoying my coffee and checking social media and emails. It's gonna be almost 90 degrees today so I have to monitor the dogs outside activities How's Tuesday looking for you?
You see, the Sadducees and the Pharisees were very stupid.
v15 Then the Pharisees (the religious leaders of the day) met together to plot how to trap Jesus into saying something for which he could be arrested.
Through-out the gospels, you will find that the religious leaders of His day were constantly trying to question Jesus's motives. They wanted to trip Him up on some "command" or religious principle. They were very much into keeping the "Laws of Moses". They had made it complicated and hard for every-day man to worship God.
Matthew 9:11-13King James Version (KJV)
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
The religious leaders of His day had read scripture. They knew what it took. But, they wanted to trip up Jesus. To make sure He knew the "Laws of Moses". The first of the "ten Commandments" is:
Love God!!!! (don't have any gods before me!!)
then: Love your neighbor!!!
I could go on and on about this subject!!! Of course, for us, it is a given. But, for others.....not so much!!!
