Mary, I don't really understand this scripture verse.

I know. God gave it to me this morning. Have been thinking about it ever since.

In my opinion, I think it is saying a harsh word said to encourage someone is better than consiled love.

But, then again, hidden love, or conciled love...well, not the best thing.

I think maybe God is trying to tell me that what I consider my husband's harsh words (he sounds very negative to me) might be his way of loving me and being concerned. It might be the only way he knows because his father was like that.

I have prayed to have God clear this up.

I have learned to be cautious about my prayers. I once prayed God make a change in our relationship. I was hoping for a change in my husband. God made changes in me!!!

So, this scripture might be more personal than I thought at first.

One way we can view this verse might be if we use God with the "hidden love". Wouldn't it be better to lash out and cry out in anger than to try to conceal God's love? Men are the worst at sharing and fellowship ping with the love God has placed in our hearts. Instead of caving and admitting fault when we hurt someone we sometimes lash out and act worse instead. For many men, it is considered unmanly to show great affection and humility. So they tend to act out in bold and bullying ways.
I told some just yesterday on yahoo/answers who was attacking bullying, that "hurting 0eople hurt others" because they think it's the only way they can feel better.. It's kid of like an overweight person just eating more and more because we think it will comfort us but instead it only makes our situation worse.
