We also had some people in front this time who were constantly making weird sounds during prayer which made the people that normally come to our church laugh... I tried to stay serious but I hardly could myself LOL I mean I respect everyone's way of worshipping the Lord but I mean you could also be a little bit more quiet though q.q

The jumping and screaming kind of joy isn't for me either - for me joy is peace, its like the smiling joy I get when I'm with other Christians or singing God's praises. Even praying there are tears of joy but its not always the bubbly kind of joy that I get.

For me, the experience is what I need at the moment. There is so much more to being a Chritian than some understand. Being a Christian is being "Christ like" We are to follow His example. He attended synagogues when the religious day dictated. As a matter of fact, when He was a young boy, his parents went to Jerusalem. When they left, they assumed he was in the compa,y they came with. When they went to find Him, He was not there. His parents went back to Jerusalem to look for Him. When they finally found Him, where was He. In the Temple, amongst the priest, teaching and listening. He set an example from an early age. His teaching to the people was a daily thing. He constantly went apart to spend time in prayer (relationship, conversing) with God. He observed many of the Jewish traditions. He was Jewish by human birth, after all.

But, each person must "experience" the Holy Spirit in their own way. It is a personal thing. Something between God and themselves.

There are many scripture that speak to this. I am unable to get them for you right now. I can do this later when I am able to. When I have Bible and computer available to me.

@Mary Ah yeha I see that's true though. It's not necessarily about feeling really. And you don't have to! Don't worry haha But I have seen multiple verses indeed :P

But, that might be a good subject to get into here, on line. Especilly since everyone hs their own opinion about a "God experience."

As for the first video, I do not agree with one thing: Buddhism has been historically accurate because the location where Buddha died has literally been found not too long ago. Then again, Buddha was not a god nor a prophet but a person who was focusing on finding inner peace. Buddhism is not a religion but a way of life. I can also become a Buddhist but still be Christian, by acknowledging Christ as my Saviour and teacher, but by allowing Buddha's teachings to help me.
I do think the rest of what this person says is right and I totally agree. But I am very ''skeptical'' and we should be. We cannot blindly trust what people tell us. Even the Bible we should be careful with. We should eagerly study Scripture and see if it seems correct. So far, I have never had any issues with this.

Also, what this guy said about people being ''afraid'' of God's Word is SOOOOOO accurate. I told myself this before. People are so afraid and that can be explained by the fact that the Word is described as a double-edged sword. Imagine someone standing with an actual sword pointed at you. You would be afraid, right? This is why people feel attacked and threatened.

As for the second vid: awesome! This guy really knows his Bible haha. This is why we always ought to read the entire context.

What did I tell you about taking what others "say" is Biblical. I think KellyK does a great job of showing this. Especially with his video about tattoos. Always, always read scripture in context. Look at what's around the scripture being quoted. You might just find yourself in disagreement with that person.

Being afraid of God's word......I think people are more afraid of what they THINK is in the word (scriptures). What they have been told is in the word. Yes, we are to "fear" God. But this fear is more of a reverence for.... somewhat the reverence we are to have toward our parents.

I once heard a comic put it this way:

The Bible is so full of "do"s that if we did the do's, we wouldn't have to worry about the "don't"s!

Well I mean, why would someone be afraid of the Bible if it's just a book for them and they do not care about what's in it? I mean, that would be contradicting in a way then.

I was trying to congratulate you on questioning what others "say" the Bible says. Always stand up for your beliefs. Question what others say. Even if it is said by a "Pastor"....a man or woman of God. Whatever....

I have found many people afraid of the word of God. They are afraid because of what others have said is in scriptures. They are afraid scripture might condemn them.

But, if they would just.....the scriptures are full of love, and encouraging things.....they are just very influenced by what they have been told by others. Not me!!! I have to find out for myself!!!!

I'm concerned what you said about Buddhism. People worship Buddha. You can't be a Christian and a Buddhist too.
