Cervical cancer is a malignancy of the cervix. Worldwide, it is the second most common cancer of women. It may present with vaginal bleeding but symptoms may be absent until the cancer is in advanced stages, which has made cervical cancer the focus of intense screening efforts utilizing the Pap smear. This is the place to talk about your experience with the cancer.
I had a cone biopsy done about 9 weeks ago. I figured I'd be a little "tighter" after the surgery but this week is my first period that I'm able to use tampons since the surgery. I couldn't believe how much difficulty I had in trying to get a tampon it. And sex! Omg! Not too comfortable.
Had anyone else experienced this?
If it turns out that it is caused by scar tissue or adhesions, you'll want to ask your doc what can be done about them. Sometimes further surgery can help, and some women have had success with a kind of physical therapy known as pelvic floor massage (you need a specially trained physical therapist for this, but larger hospitals often have them).
You deserve to have a comfortable sex life, and of course you also want to be able to have future exams comfortably as well, so don't give up until you have some answers.
