Cerebral Palsy Support Group
Cerebral palsy or CP is the most common childhood physical disability. It is a permanent physical condition that affects movement. There is no cure for cerebral palsy, but various forms of therapy can help a person with the disorder to function more effectively. If you or a loved one has cerebral palsy, join the group to share your experience or get advice from others.
Isn't the "Vitarin" helping any with cp pain?
All: If we don't do, @ least, stretches each morning, Lucas (9 yr old) does not do well @ school, in karate class, swimming in the pool (just closed it over the wkend, too cold out, now) @ the YMCA, etc. He just wants to sit around and watch TV instead of doing anything else... So, I try to keep him on his toes about stretching & using his right side as much as possible...just as he keeps on me about this, that & the other.
BTW, I posted the following a few min. ago...might be helpful for others? Take care!
History: OT/PT since age 5 months for CP hemi parasis, right side. In June, 2008, he had heel cord lengthening AND medial ham string lengthening. He's worn various braces/supports (AFO, DFO, left arm restraint), Botox injections in his arm & leg, along w/ leg 'serial casting', etc. He currently ONLY wears a night time 'continual stretch' apparatus from DynaSplint...while he sleeps, the tension continually puts pressure on his foot to stretch the heel cord; working GREAT...!
Yesterday, my son, age 9, had his 4-month update appt. w/ his physiatrist (doc of physical therapy). The doc was SO excited to share something new he found AND used @ the CP conference w/in the past week or so. Specifically, a glove that enables the hand to strengthen while being held in the proper position, encouraging the muscles to eventually be weaned off the glove. We're going to set up an appointment to have this glove made for my son to use. We will keep you updated. Here's the website to check out...more than just glove support technology, they do all types of supports.

I used to hurt my back or knee and wake up and be fine. Can't sleep pain wakes me up at night. Burning pain from a pinched nerve plus what feels like arthritis pain times 100 but hardly any
arthritis to speak of.
So for those of you who hurt... Is it widespread like me or is it a knee or shoulder.. arm or back or everything like me? Going to pain doc tomorrow see if they can up my balcofen that is definitely part of the problem I'm so tight muscles feel like they are being squeezed tight all day/night long... The pain varies from burning-stabbing-aching ... Therapy isn't working for me ...
Just wondering..
Have a great day ya'all
