Omg I am right there with you. The only thing we can do really is just try to stay warm. Winter affects my mobility a lot because of the extra spasticity and ice and snow. Do you take baclofen or anything like that? I always have someone with me when I'm outside in the winter, I have ice tips for my crutches. Sometimes my power chair does ok if the snow is smooth and not that much of it, but it could easily get stuck. So yeah, winter is depressing but we can get through it we always do?

Fortunely it doesn't snow where I live, but I still stuggle when it rains. I rarely go out when it rains; too slippery. I don't take baclofen. My best bet is to wrap up and drink lots of hot beverages.

Lucky, snow is my worst nightmare I missed a lot of school because of snow

About problems with cold weather,,yeah i totally get you!!! well for me when its so cold its like my body its even more rigid than my normal cp stifness (i do not if its the right word english its not my native language,,but i mean that my legs and arms become more rigid with cold) and it gets more difficult for me to walk and because of the rigid legs if im walking sometimes mi knees hurt!D:

but even with all this i love cold weather!!!!

I'm not sure, if the cold affects me badly, but I've heard that those with CP don't do well in the cold. I know it's dangerous for me to try to walk on know, especially when it starts to ice over because I don't have great balance on my right side.

I hate cold wether too. It makes me very stiff and sore. I got a heated blanket and that helps. You could try that.

The cold weather got me few times over the last week. A couple of nights got down to the 40's. I started shivering hard more than once. I will get used to that, each time the average temp drops it takes me a week to adjust. That being said I am looking forward to XC-Skiing around my yard, once I warm up I really don't feel the cold as much then.

hi there its lynne yes i get alot more stiffness tightness and cramps pain seems to be all over most days from my neck to my feet i get most of my pain in my lower back its mental at moment its so cold in leeds winter is definately here feel my 39 years i can tell you i can emphaise with you.u have just gotta try and keep moving even though sometimes its harder.in colder months ive been abit low at times with the pain but gotta focus on the fact i can still walk we need some heat in our bones be nice can dream lol.

hi there i can emphaise with u there maria i hate the cold at moment everything seems to ache especially my lower back and right knee and hips and feet..im on my maximum baclofen at mo i take 8 a day.keep warm love im just really tired i do get some spasticity and cramps in hands and feet pain.just gotta layer up and take plenty of hot drinks like you say. cant wait for the summer months to come hate winter.take care keep ur chin up and keep strong.

Totally, cold weather is tough on me as well. I was wondering about icy hot or aspercreme. I wonder if these might help with the pain.

Icy hot does feel good on tired achy muscles; I remembered my mom putting it on me when I was young. It's the smell that I don't like.

you can buy a heat vest that goes in microwave. The vest will keep you warm outside for about an hour or two if you wear coat on top. Cold makes me stiff and sarts to cause muscles to spasm. Dampness is worse than cold for me because of arthritus.
