Free Screening of Living With Fibromyalgia in San Diego
Dear Simone,
You're invited to the San Diego premiere of the ground-breaking documentary film, Living With Fibromyalgia: A Journey of Hope and Understanding. This premiere is made possible by the generosity of the Fry Family Trust.
If you live in the area or know anybody in the area who would benefit from seeing this film, please join us on Thursday, March 22 at 7 PM at the Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas at 3965 5th Avenue in San Diego. The theater has three hours of free parking with validation.
Daneen Akers, the narrator of the film, feels that it's important to watch a film like this in a theater. "There's something inspiring and empowering about being in a big theater watching a film as a community of patients and family members," she said recently during an interview. "I think our culture values what we see on the big screen, so knowing that somebody valued a condition enough to make a film about gives patients and those loved ones validation that they aren't alone."
Seating is limited. Please RSVP to Tracey Cooper at 714-921-0150 or by email to tcooper@fmaware.org.

Host a Screening in Celebration of National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on May 12, 2007
We have partnered with the National Fibromyalgia Association to help spread the word about fibromyalgia for the 2007 National Fibromyalgia Day. Help get the word out about fibromyalgia by hosting a screening in your local theater, community center, or your own living room!
The National Fibromyalgia Association has chosen Living With Fibromyalgia: A Journey of Hope and Understanding to be part of their Focus on Fibromyalgia campaign for the 2007 National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day during the weekend of May 11-13, 2007. Let your local community know about fibromyalgia by purchasing an Awareness Day Packet from the NFA. The packet includes everything you need to host a screening of the film and help get the word out to your friends and family, local community, and the media about fibromyalgia including a copy of the film, postcard invitations, flyers, and a CD with helpful templates.
Also, be sure to sign-up as a host with Brave New Theaters to list your screening so others in your area can attend your event. It's free to join and a great resource for letting others know about your event.
